This is also possibility. And because parallel multiverses incorporate more than one possibility, that it may even, for example, the whales have completed the evolution of that can live on land and whales are shaping the planet. Or maybe there is no people on Earth instead of dinosaurs. So in fact, it does not need to think about only the people, in my opinion. But mankind has always dream a better place for themselves;)
