“UFO attack to Turkey”: In another means “Trolling the whole world by the people of Turkey on twitter”

In the early hours of today, a hashtag was opened on twitter. Hashtag “UFOattacktoTurkey”. In about an hour, this twitter hashtag rised to number one in the world trend. Within a couple of hours, many twitter users around the world have supposed this news was true. But in fact, it was only a few Turks planned movement that has trolled the world.

The group in the background of the event is a group from Turkey which is called “goygoyrail” -goygoy means kind of chatty-. Before today, the group had already announced on their social account that it will do it. They said that shortly: “Without insulting anyone, we will pretend to see UFOs in every city, and we will send tweets on this subject. And we will troll the whole world.”

Certainly they have been successful. They have been number 1 on the twitter trend all over the world in a couple hours. In Turkey, this subject has been taken as humor and entertainment, however it seems that a lot of people on planet Earth have taken it seriously. Here are a few tweet examples from Turkey:

In English: LATEST NEWS: The aliens who have heard the opportunities given to the Syrians have applied to become citizens of Turkey.

In English: Theeyyy try to do it with UFO’s that they could not make weapons at coup attempt on July 15th . Hey aliens what do you think you are!

In English: The aliens who saw the people of Turkey

In English: They say that aliens are attacking; don’t ruffle me temper, I would send 5 million refugees to the space.

In English: If we don’t find anyone to fight, we would fight with aliens, Turks are warrior nation:)

In English: Ooo great! We saw the 1 US dollar has been 3,40 Turkish liras, we saw AKP, we saw coup attempt, and now UFO’s? What kind of generation what we live in!

Upper one is from: Antalya, Muratpasha municipality official twitter account,

In English: While there is Antalya like heaven, aliens what are you doing in Istanbul? Antalya coordinates; 36°54`01″N, 30°47`34″E, when you come, tweet it

-Below one is from CHP (main opposition party)deputy Aykut Erdogdu

In English: I think we’re going through national insanity … We’ve went mad all together … Good night to all of you ….

In English: If aliens invade Turkey, Azerbaijan people are ready to help to the Turkey

….

And some of them except Turkey think that this is true news and it is being cencored:

#ufoattacktoturkey trending around the world and #twitter is #censoring

#ufoattacktoturkey was trending globally on twitter, now it’s censored. there are reports of similar lights from texas, denver and the uk.

…..

As a result, I agree with CHP deputy Aykut Erdogdu as partial. It seems that the people of Turkey are going through national insanity. But into these insane situations of the world, it probably may be to try protecting mental health with this way, in funniest way, haha!

The story of Syrian child workers: Who produces luxury textile brands?

Zeynep Savas, writer
November 24, 2016
SoL

1000x563_338484

Abdulbaki is 11 years old. He works in a textile workshop. The workshop is small, dusty… a guy with undershirt is shouting to them in order for they to work faster. The man is shouting but Abdulbaki doesn’t understand what the man said. Abdulbaki is Syrian…

Abdulbaki is a “lucky” kid. Instead of begging on the streets, he found a job in the workshop. Of course, the owner of the workshop is so much more lucky than him, he found dozens of Abdulbaki who is working for half of the minimum wage. The main factory owner is even more lucky. The relationship that he has established with the workshops makes the cost with very low wages, he gets new machines, expands business.

Textile is an interesting sector. Everything we wear is actually going between the workshops and the factories. In many cases, the main factory is taking orders, then giving it to it’s fason. Fason also can’t complete the job, it gives another part of job to an another fason. Sometimes, the rest of the job is distributed to the houses. It is not possible to know who completes; is it a 70-year-old aunt or 7 years old child is cleaning the thread?

Is it legal? Not of course, but who cares. The export champion of Turkey is automotive. The level of organization of automotive and organization does not remove such irregularities. The textile is following the automotive. It’s the second in exports, and it grows with that the irregularity is being the rule.

Abdulbaki dreams while he is ironing at 11 years old. “I will grow up and be a footballer,” he says. The minimum of working age is 15 in the country. Let’s look at briefly what happens from the year that Abdulbaki entered the job in textile at 11 years old to he become in 15.

Turkey is one of the leading countries of the world in tekstile. We are one of the favorite producers of many big, well-known brands (these adjectives can be read as expensive as the workers who produce the textiles can’t buy them at the same time). Cheap labor, quality production, the opportunities to escape from legal obligations, the politicians who even market the air and the water of the country. What would they want more? However, with the Syrians who is living in the country and reaching even 3 million in the official figures, the concern of deciphering came to the forefront. As same as how the Rana Plaza massacre in Bangladesh has shown that the textile industry has risen above the workers’ inanimate bodies, today the child labor in Turkey reveals the capitalism with all it’s nakedness. The being of the labour of his tiny hands on the coat or shoe he wears is like shouting “the king is naked”. Capitalism emerges with all its ugliness and nature and with it’s side which is made the people feel guilty. Even if a channel like the BBC is filming the documentary in the country, the situation is becoming critical.

That those brands which came to the country for making the cheap production are in a stew in these conditions. Controls are increasing. Children and unregistered workers are being hunted. While the brand inspectors are entering the front door, children are being evicted from the back door. Abdulbaki (now he is 12 years old), who is evicted by pushing from the fire exit of the workshop, is shocked at what he is going through. This day is an unexpected holiday for him, he is playing with the ball…

The situation is doom and gloom, the country is in a complicated spot. There is no “political stability”, there is a security gap, on top of it there is a risk of child labor. The brands are debating whether to withdraw from the country or not. Exporters are in panic. On the other hand, the funds are brought in so that the Syrians stay in Turkey. Projects are being done on the projects. From the European Union to the ILO(International Labour Organization) and NGOs, everyone is working very hard. Funds are collected, meetings are held. The people are getting worried by saying “What will happen the states of these children,” sincerely. But there is no solution in the system, any solution is not able to come out. “Poverty should be debateed” is being said; but the richness doesn’t be a matter of debate. Meetings held by different institutions, almost the same people are attending, are being held in big hotels. Together with tasty snacks, the situation of child workers and the unregistered Syrians are being discussed. Participants at the five-star hotel restaurant, while they are eating the meals that the contents of them are not understood from their names, at the same moments (Abdulbaki is now 13 years old), he is still in the workshop, and if he is lucky, there are only two pieces of meat in his lunch.

While Abdulbaki is ironing at the workshop, the projects are about Abdulbaki and meetings are preparing the splendent reports. “Participation is much higher than expected” is being absolutely underlined in these meetings. It is being stated that the studies on the subject have continued on the reports. Only the fees which are paid for writing these reports are equivalent to Abdulbaki’s monthly fee.

Field surveys are being done within the scope of the projects that were taken. At Bagcılar, the researchers are coming to the workshop for research about the child workers. But Abdulbaki is being evicted from the back door again. After he went out, he meets the good-humored surveyor who asks him the questions. Abdulbaki is well-learned the Turkish anymore. Now, he is a 14-year-old young boy. Into passing years, a young brother of him was born, Abdulbaki needs to work more anymore, he is working on overtime. His father was working on construction, but he was injured, he is at home now. Abdulbaki does not play the football as much as he used to be, he grew up quickly. Field researches continue… According to the records, Abdulbaki is still 14 years old; the datas on the records are not enough to explain how fast he reached at 20 even maybe at 30 years of age psychologically. Already he is no longer “Abdulbaki” anymore, he is the part of the data set.

suriyeli_cocuk_isci

The people who conduct field research and all these projects are not “bad”. Many of them want to heal Abdulbaki’s life sincerely. Whereas with the efforts of those “good” people, the two other of Abdulbaki were taken out of the working life and registered in the school, but the system is giving birth to twofold. The size of the exploitation that the Syrians are fallen into and even while the point which this exploitation came to disturb even a part of the capital, the problem still can not be solved; these all also show the exitless of capitalism. Abdulbaki is one of the indicators that you can’t reach a solution by looking through the system.

Today 24 November, Abdulbaki has turned 15 years old. The brands that are looking for cheap labor but are afraid deadly of that their images can be shaken and the institutions which protect and watch out the capitalism and try to “humanize” of it, also the exporters all together, celebrate Abdulbaki’s transition from illegal exploitation to the partly legal exploitation. Abdulbaki has forgotten his dream of being a footballer and also he is the birthday of today. He is ironing by dreaming of being a mechanic at the factory. Somehow, he is no longer a “child worker”, he is one of the “unregistered” workers who create more than half of the sector.

It needs to be much more than the funds which came from abroad to save the life of Abdulbaki who passed to young labor from child labor. If we take Abdulbaki from the workshop and we register him to school, would he be saved? This would be another subject of an another writing, however the answer is clear from the begining: Abdulbaki goes to the school, his brother goes to the workshop…

Wake up, the people of planet Earth!

1984 Unfolding as Public Surveillance Technologies Deployed Without Consent

facial-recognition-festival

Isaac Davis, Staff Writer
Waking Times

We are fast approaching an era when humanity will be subjugated by a technological tyranny managed by an untouchable organization of elites, bureaucrats and paid public minders hired to monitor our behaviors, emotions and thoughts. In an environment like this, law and justice will be meaningless, as the tools of a technocracy can used to enforce the policies and whims of whoever monitors us, whether it be corporate employees, criminals, or abusive state actors.

Recent developments and roll-outs of advanced facial recognition technology are a hint of the coming ubiquitousness in using biometric, face-scanning, emotion-reading, all-seeing technology to govern every detail of daily life. Consider the following developments:

  • Increasingly, facial recognition is being used to scan concert and festival goers creating permanent databases of partiers. [Source]
  • An experimental town in China is now using facial recognition to grant citizens entry. [Source]
  • Facial recognition is now capable of reading human emotions, opening the door to a new world of possibility in pre-crime detection. [Source]
  • The TSA is using emotion reading facial recognition technology to determine if a traveler is to be treated as a threat. [Source]
  • Police nationwide are using the controversial Stingray system which allows them to listen to anyone’s cell phone conversations. [Source]
  • California police are already using a computer system called ‘Beware’ to predict crime and preemptively stop it. [Source]
  • Microsoft recently conducted a major test during the 2016 Republican and Democratic conventions, using emotion reading facial recognition technology to survey the crowd for threats. [Source]
  • A Russian software developer has released an App that allows you to turn your smart phone into a facial recognition device. [Source]
  • Some U.S. churches are using a consumer version of facial recognition to keep tabs on who is in attendance for Sunday service. [Source]
  • Facial recognition, finger-print reading, and iris scanning is now being included in consumer technologies. [Source]

The justification for using this technology against a public who is never given the opportunity to consent or to op-out is, as always, public safety, as police and government agencies claim the technology is needed to spot criminal elements, gang members and other threats to the public. Here, a quote from George Orwell offers a glimpse of what the inevitable outcome of this is:

“It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself—anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offence. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: FACECRIME, it was called.” – 1984, George Orwell

Here, RT discusses how Microsoft used emotion reading facial recognition technology at political conventions and how some are resisting the way this technology is being introduced into our society.

Final Thoughts

Privacy and anonymity are the enemies of the state, and it is being destroyed without our consent by both government and corporations who are deploying technology with no consideration of the human consequences. The possibilities for a techno-totalitarian future are grim, but without awareness and without motivation to resist, it is all but a forgone conclusion.

Orwell himself warned us of how this dark vision would force itself into fruition unless we stood against it. At the end of his life he even gave us this final warning. Are you listening?

Before election, pro-Donald Trump and pro-Hillary Clinton software robots produced 3.8 million tweets and social bots also accounted for 400,000 of the 2.8 million individual users

Fake Tweets, real consequences for the election

Software robots masquerading as humans are influencing the political discourse on social media as never before and could threaten the very integrity of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, said Emilio Ferrara, a computer scientist and research leader at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI), and USC Viterbi School of Engineering research assistant professor.

By leveraging state-of-the art bot detection algorithms, Ferrara and co-author Alessandro Bessi, a visiting research assistant at USC’s ISI, have made a startling discovery: a surprisingly high percentage of the political discussion taking place on Twitter was created by pro-Donald Trump and pro-Hillary Clinton software robots, or social bots, with the express purpose of distorting the online discussion regarding the elections.

The researchers analyzed 20 million election-related tweets created between Sept. 16 and Oct. 21. They found that robots, rather than people, produced 3.8 million tweets, or 19 percent. Social bots also accounted for 400,000 of the 2.8 million individual users, or nearly 15 percent of the population under study.

“The presence of these bots can affect the dynamics of the political discussion in three tangible ways,” writes in a recently released paper titled, “Social Bots Distort the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Online Discussion,” appearing the journal First Monday.

“First, influence can be redistributed across suspicious accounts that may be operated with malicious purposes. Second, the political conversation can become further polarized. Third, spreading of misinformation and unverified information can be enhanced.”

“As a result, the integrity of the 2016 U.S. presidential election could be possibly endangered.”

Interestingly, Trump’s robot-produced tweets were almost uniformly positive, boosting the candidate popularity. By contrast only half of Clinton’s were, with the other half criticizing the nominee, according to the research paper. South Carolina produced the most fake campaign-related tweets, the study reports.

Because of social bots’ sophistication, it’s often impossible to determine who creates them, although political parties, local, national and foreign governments and “even single individuals with adequate resources could obtain the operational capabilities and technical tools to deploy armies of social bots and affect the directions of online political conversation,” the report says.

The “master puppeteers” behind influence bots, Ferrara added, often create fake Twitter and Facebook profiles. They do so by stealing online pictures, giving them fictitious names, and cloning biographical information from existing accounts. These bots have become so sophisticated that they can tweet, retweet, share content, comment on posts, “like” candidates, grow their social influence by following legitimate human accounts and even engage in human-like conversations.

Pitiable and dangerous face of EU where is so-called civilization center of human kind

French radio station calls for Donald Trump’s assassination
Source: Pravda.Ru

According to the information received from Breizatao independent media outlet, as well as a video, France-Inter radio station used more than just aggressive rhetoric in its broadcast  against the winner of the US presidential election billionaire Donald Trump.

The radio station openly called for his assassination: “Donald Trump and his victory have given a hope in the American people  – the hope that he would be killed even before his inauguration,” Pablo Mira, a host of France-Inter said during a prime time radio show.

Pravda.Ru sources in France say that there were no penalties applied against the radio host. Noteworthy, France-Inter radio station is known for its strong anti-Trump sentiments.

However, no representative of either the French media, or the committee for audiovisual surveillance that plays the role of a censor in the French society, has found it necessary to apologize.

Is this the level which human beings want to reach? Is this the thing that humanity wants to be?

“The assassination” for humanity! How a big pitifulness it is to make an assassination call!

And attention to the last pragraph at news:
“However, no representative of either the French media, or the committee for audiovisual surveillance that plays the role of a censor in the French society, has found it necessary to apologize.”

They wouldn’t do this. Even if they would apologize because of they do have really benefit, not becuase of they believe in “they are in wrong”. This is French’s gift for the planet Earth. This gift consists of full hypocrisy and arrogance. Especially with their thought and lobbies about left-idea, the French left is one of the most responsibles and source of the wrong perception and wrong directioning of EU people about leftist idea and world!

With your hypocrisy you are ugly!

When the clocks show 09:05 on the 10th of November

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk died at 9:05 on 10th of November, 1938. This year is the 78. commemorating year of him.

“Ataturk” word is compound word. It comprises of two word “Ata” and “Turk”. Ata word meaning is “father-ancestor” in Turkish. Ataturk is the surname of Mustafa Kemal. Also, any one cannot be named with Ataturk name except Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. This was framed by the act of law on constitution of Turkey Republic in 1934.

English translation of the writings on upper video

His only thought was about the Republic of Turkey

He loved the most this country more than anything

For the ones, he was soldier

For the ones, he was genius

For us, he is ATATURK

He never GAVE UP

He was never tired of STRUGGLE

Even if the sentence of death* for him, couldn’t make him stop

On the 78th anniversary of his physical death,

We miss him more then ever.

Veteran Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of Republic of Turkey, eternal leader, chief commander of all time,

We follow in his footsteps.

*The sentence of death for him had been given by last Ottoman Sultan Vahdettin in 1920 before Vahdettin run away from country with British war ship.

The picture at the video is Anitkabir, the memorial tomb of Ataturk and museum in Ankara. Every year many people visit Anitkabir; not only on November 10, they visit on the other national days like October 29.

Every year many people of Turkey pay tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk at the 09:05 on 10th of November. The alarms are being given with sirens, people are standing up, the cars are being stopped, and the people are in a moment of silence for rememberence of him. This ambiance has not changed last 78 years.

This scene has been taken in Istanbul. Also you can see this scene in many city of Turkey in same day, in same moment on every year, when the clocks show 09:05 on every 10th of November.

With all my respect…

“Clinton and Trump have only tactical differences”

Socialists are participating in the U.S elections as well: Only a complete overturning of capitalism can realize the tremendous potential of humanity

arton1340-93902

Tulga Bugra Işik’s news,  from SoL international

Due to the choices of monopolistic system, imperialist-militarist state structure and anti-communism, only two parties and two candidates are visible in the so-called “fortress of democracy”.

But today in the U.S. elections, there are other candidates such as the candidate of Greens Jill Stein, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and the candidate of Party of Socialism and Liberation, which continues its socialist struggle without concessions, Gloria La Riva.

We talked with the candidate of PSL on the policies of presidential candidates, electoral system of U.S., U.S. economy and the Middle East policy of U.S.

“ELECTIONS IN U.S. ARE ANTI-DEMOCRATIC”

Why is the Party for Socialism and Liberation running in the elections, in a political system designed for two parties? What does PSL think about two-party system and U.S. democracy?

The U.S. electoral and political system is the system of the ruling imperialist class. As such, it is one of the most important mechanisms to maintain its rule. The elections in the United States are one of the most anti-democratic in the capitalist world. For example, even though the presidential election is national, a candidate or party is required to apply for ballot status, state to state, and the requirements vary widely. It takes literally about a billion dollars for one of the two bourgeois candidates to run a campaign, so of course, that makes it necessary for those parties to be wholly responsible to the corporate donors. Then is the problem of access to the large-scale media, which engages in a fierce censorship of other candidates.

And yet, with this inaccessible scenario, our Party has participated in every presidential election since shortly after our founding. We do this because as Leninists, we believe it is essential to be where the masses are, to speak in the name of socialism and struggle as the only way that the crises of the working class and society as a whole can be overcome and resolved. If we were just to criticize from the outside without intervening in the electoral arena, we would not have meaningful access to the people, who still see the elections as the means for political participation.

We have had this year a tremendous experience, with our members and supporters in city after city, reaching out to so many communities, joining in the struggles and helping lead some, with our political program, which has received a positive response and interest from many. We also encourage those who are more interested than in just voting for an alternative candidate and party, to join our Party, which many have done.

We have helped give visibility and popular support to key struggles this year, for instance, when I and other members have traveled to North Dakota to support the great Native resistance struggle against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Our vice-presidential candidate in several states, Dennis Banks, is a well-known Native leader, co-founder of the American Indian Movement, who has been a continual presence there. This struggle is the most important environmental movement in the United States in years, and largest, most united movement of Native people in more than 100 years, with more than 450 Native tribes and nations who have joined together.

We have been part of dozens of protests and manifestations against the brutal police killings of Black and Latino people, defending people against evictions, marching against the US-Saudi bombing of Yemen, organizing protests against the U.S. proxy war against Syria.

“CLINTON AND TRUMP HAVE ONLY TACTICAL DIFFERENCES”

What do you think about differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? Are there significant differences between them?

By the time you are able to publish this, perhaps the new president will be elected. It looks like it may be Hillary Clinton, since her close numbers seem to be improving in the last hours, due to the intense media push for her, and the fact that Republican and Democratic leaders alike are behind her. But we see that there would be little difference, perhaps small tactical differences, and certainly in their images. The public perception is different, although both candidates are greatly disliked. I can attest to the exhaustion that the mass of people feel, by us talking to so many thousands in the streets, in public events. There is a great feeling of distrust, anger at their justified perception that one, Trump, is a disgusting racist, anti-woman and overall bigot, and billionaire who has gotten away with huge tax breaks; While Clinton is seen by many as being in the pockets of the biggest banks, as a proven warmonger, and not trustworthy. Yet, there is definitely more fear of Trump. And that is the reason that Clinton will likely win, purely out of fear of Trump, and of course for many because she is a woman.

It is virtually a smooth transition from one president to another in terms of neoliberal policies that have intensified, whether it was NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement of President Clinton, to President Obama’s Trans Pacific Partnership, or the growing militarism, from the Gulf War of George H.W. Bush, to Clinton’s continuation of the genocidal sanctions against Iraq, to his bombing of Yugoslavia, to Obama’s support of the Honduras coup and the destruction of the Libyan state, notably with Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. The fact that most Republican leaders have all given their support to Clinton is because they fear the potential instability and perceived illegitimacy of a Trump presidency.

The U.S. president is simply the CEO of U.S. imperialism, and whomever is elected will pursue those objectives. Of course, history has shown us that when a truly mass movement arises, such as the great civil rights struggle of the African American population, especially in the South, even reactionary politicians can be forced to change their position and make concessions. We see the potential for mass movements developing in this coming period, as some are already on the march.

“SECULAR GOVERNMENTS IN MIDDLE EAST ARE PARTICULARLY TARGETED BY US”

What do you think about U.S. policies in the Middle East?

The U.S. has undertaken a highly-destructive, genocidal offensive for more than 25 years now since the Gulf War, in the Middle East and nearby regions. But of course, since U.S. imperialism’s emergence as the dominant world power after 1945, generally unscathed by World War II, it has continually waged one aggression after another on each continent. There are too many to mention here. With respect to the Middle East, we have been determined opponents to the U.S. wars and occupations, which of course includes its funding and backing of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people. Many of us — even before our Party’s formation — were involved in defying the U.S. blockade of Iraq, taking massive shipments of medicines into Iraq. We are very active in the ANSWER Coalition, Act Now to Stop War and End Racism. Every independent state, especially secular government, have been particular targets of the United States, because they are seen as obstacles to full U.S. domination of the region.

We never fail to warn of Hillary Clinton’s openly stated intentions, starting with a U.S.-imposed no-fly zone that would lead to war. It is stunning, the recklessness of Clinton and her hostilities against Russia. We have often pointed out that her foreign policy advisers and future team, if she wins, will be the most hardened neoconservatives, like Rogert Kagan and Victoria Nuland. Clinton’s doctrine draft, one of whose architects is Michelle Flourney (who may become the next Secretary of Defense), the “Campaign for a New American Strategy,” spells out the objective of expanded American dominance in the Middle East, Africa and Europe (directed against Russia), as well as eliminating the “military budget cap,” as if there were any kind of restrictions to the Pentagon’s unlimited budget!

“REVOLUTIONARIES SHOULD BE PREPARED”

What is the current economic status of U.S.? What is the solution of PSL for the economic problems of U.S.?

In addition to the fact that, according to U.S. government statistics, half of the population is poor or near poor, there are millions more who are economically insecure, who lack medical care, or who are a paycheck away from poverty. This happens at a time when the wealth of the “1%” has grown astronomically. Of course the wealth at the top is because of the capitalists’ increased exploitation over the last 30 years while wages have been stagnant for many years. The 2007-2008 financial meltdown hit the working class and poor very hard, bringing many national pensions to the brink of collapse, and 3 million families lost their homes due to bank foreclosures, and student debt grew to $1.3 trillion dollars! Yet it was the banks that were bailed out by more than $700 billion, which taxpayers had to pay for ultimately. The same speculative actions of the bankers to maximize their profits, plus the cyclical crisis of capitalism, the drop in world commodity prices of oil, minerals and other key resources, overproduction in many other industries, all this points to an inevitable new economic collapse.

Each crisis leaves capitalism and the working class worldwide in a more precarious position, while the environment suffers intensifying degradation. It is critical for revolutionaries to be prepared, to build our organizations, to deepen our roots in the working class and fight the reactionaries’ and ruling class’s solution, which is war on the workers and repression. We believe, in spite of the growing economic crisis, that there is reason for optimism, because more and more people are becoming consciously anti-capitalism, and more are open to the ideas of socialism.

We believe that only a radical transformation of society, a complete overturning of capitalism, can realize the tremendous potential of humanity, on a socialist, sustainable basis.

That was the purpose of our socialist intervention in the U.S. elections, to educate, agitate, and grow the movement on a revolutionary basis, to join in unity with all popular movements and people wanting to work and struggle for real and lasting change.

We thank you comrades for your invitation once again and opportunity to express our views. We are in full solidarity with you in your struggle in Turkey.

Communist Party: This is a dissolution in mass

The attacks of the AKP are not slowing down: Academia, the Daily Cumhuriyet and the HDP…

The Communist Party – Turkey released a statement about the recent jailings of the pro-Kurdish MPs. The statement underscores the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government has to keep attacking to sustain its dissolving power.

This is a dissolution in mass

In today’s statement made by the Prime Ministry and directed to foreign press on the ongoing operation against several MPs of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), it was clear the Turkish government was trying to find a pretext for this operation. According to the statement, their being taken into custody like that was a normal procedure since they did not appear in court to give testimony!

The day before the Minister of Justice could only say “bad luck” after it was revealed that the prosecutor assigned to the Daily Cumhuriyet case was also under investigation for being a Gülenist.

It is not possible either to find any reasonable explanation for the AKP’s attacks to academia. Elections of university presidents were already an accessory created by the military regime established after the military coup on September 12, 1980. Even such an accessory was too much for the AKP regime.

At the core of these attacks lies the fact that the AKP has no other choice than suppressing every segment of the society. If they stepped back even a little, the power mechanisms that they can hardly hold together, i.e. the state apparatus, economy, profits of the capitalist class, the armed forces they sent to the Middle East and even their own political party would certainly collapse as a whole.

The AKP is not gaining any strength by attacking. It is just postponing the inevitable.

The Communist Party condemns the ongoing repressive practices as in the recent case of the HDP deputies and is in solidarity with those who are victimized, sacked, disentitled and restrained from doing their job under the pretext of the July 15 coup attempt although they have nothing to with the Gülenist sect.

On the other hand, this course of events also signals the dissolution of the line of opposition which has adopted a compromising stance against the dictatorship of the AKP. It is also a fact that neo-nationalists has been trying to get rid of their liberal competitors for an alliance with the AKP, by forwarding their complains to the AKP, while fascist and reactionist policies have been openly carried out. The main opposition party assumes that complaining about the unlawful purge in the public sector means a serious method of struggle against AKP. Then the question if they really oppose to anything becomes legitimate especially when the puppets appointed by the government to serve as substitutes for the elected mayors are unanimously accepted by the elected city councils. In a country where city councils accepted and tolerated appointment of trustees, it has also become possible to form a constitutional committee within the Grand National Assembly. Those who champion democracy can present their shows in the filthy lobbies of imperialist diplomacy as a struggle. All of them wait for an invitation from liberal/mainstream media channels that have been long known to be submitted to Erdoğan to demonstrate their opposition to the AKP. All of these are in dissolution.

What is happening in Turkey today coincides with a period in which the contradictions within the imperialist-capitalist system have sharpened to the utmost. It is not possible to discuss the actions of the AKP’without putting these contradictions at the center. It must be known that any “opposition” that blossomed out of any capitalist group or any imperialist power is a betrayal against the people of this country and gives the ruling party the opportunity to justify its actions. The same thing can be said about bombings terrorizing every inch of the public life.

This system demolishes the institution of politics in the mass.

The Communist Party calls workers, academics, the press workers who live on their labors to detach themselves from this rotten system.

For the time being the AKP seems to have the power to attack. However, it is not attacking because it is powerful, but because it has to. This road leads to nowhere. This kind of dead end that the system is approaching is an open invitation for our working people.
