GS of Communist Party of Turkey comments on Turkey’s elections

This interview was taken from SoL.news. These comments of Kemal Okuyan are providing to more understand especially the situations of the Turkey’s pro-system opponent parties and they help to explain the leanings of the electors of Turkey.

Wednesday, 27 June 2018

soL news interviewed Kemal Okuyan, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), on the results of June 24 election results. Okuyan reminded that the political power had organised electoral manipulations quite before the elections and that the TKP pointed this out strongly in those days. He highlights that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “success” should be evaluated starting right from this point. Okuyan also noted that the coalition of the opposition was designed as a “project of the capitalists”, and that the “pro-establishment left” quit adhering to leftist values since anti-establishment left moved away from these values.

Turkey’s Supreme Electoral Board (YSK) had unlawfully prevented TKP from entering June 24 elections and TKP undid this inhibition by running independent communist candidates in parliamentary elections through This Social Order Must Change Platform. The platform was established following the call of TKP. The platform ran a total of 17 independent candidates in different provinces of Turkey.

Erdoğan portrayed quite an incapacitated and disqualified image before June 24 elections. However, Erdoğan won the elections in the first round. What do you think had happened?

We have to talk about the electoral system first of all. Electoral manipulations are being set before the elections, not on the day of the elections, as we always say. We warned about electoral inks, unsealed envelopes and ballots, ballot box relocations and such before when we said: “no to elections under these circumstances”. The [parliamentary main opposition party, CHP] Republican People’s Party and others just let people put up with all that, saying “they cannot do anything”. And yet, the problem is not only related to the electoral system. The strategy of defeating the [ruling party] AKP  by resembling the AKP itself also failed.

We will come back to this point again but I would like to resolve the issue of electoral frauds. What could have they done, really?

Apart from the things they did on the day of the election, the real issue rests on voter lists. The electoral turnout is quite high. I personally do not believe that the ratio of turnout is real. We know that people voted instead of the dead and the ones in abroad. Also multiple votes… We witnessed countless times that civil servants voted more than once with their officer IDs. More importantly, the system in Turkey makes it impossible to track down “virtual citizens”. They are in control of the ID system. The ballot boxes are a complete mess and no one can inspect; people living in the same apartment are registered in different ballot boxes. When you gather all that together, it makes something huge.

Doesn’t the opposition parties know about that?

Let’s call them pro-system opposition. They are responsible from the continuation of this damned system as much as the parties in power, and they act accordingly! They acted accordingly during the Gezi Park resistance, after the local elections in 2014, and the referendum [in 2017], and during the period when they devised Yenikapı spirit [AKP’s meeting at Yenikapı in İstanbul after the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016.] They never want the people to question the legitimacy of the system. It is absurd to have elections under such an electoral system and yet they made people accept it by saying “we are in charge of everything.” Erdoğan should thank such an opposition.

Then, what about the TKP? Why did it enter the elections, even by means of independent candidates?

Apart from the regulations in the electoral system that favour the political power, obstacles that hinder the toiling masses to get involved with politics are present all along. There is the 10 percent electoral threshold, treasury grants, obstacles before getting organised and making propaganda… TKP is not a party for elections and yet responsible for spreading its voice in the elections, getting organised and point at a real alternative. We could not, and did not, have abstained from such duties when a large section of the society had high hopes from the elections. You cannot call for a boycott whenever you are right. We are always right against the dictatorship of the capital.

Elections have been the only option of the people of Turkey until yesterday. We shared our warnings regarding that and it was not a waste of time for us. We are used to discourses like “let’s talk about after the elections”. The elections are over now and the number of people who find us right is increasing. People always look for a solution, a way to survive. Elections and pro-establishment politics were “solutions”, and yet they blew up. Organised struggle and the demand for social order change are the only solutions at the moment and they never miss the target. In that sense, the TKP whispered in the people’s ear “you know it best, but this is not the solution” during the whole electoral period.

A CERTAIN SECTION OF THE SOCIETY THAT HAS ENMITY TOWARDS ERDOĞAN DO NOT SEEK SOCIAL ORDER CHANGE

What about the reactions of the people you contacted?

A certain section of the society who have enmity towards the political power is not interested with the demand of social order change, and even more, do not have such a demand. They cling on the system, and some of them even have interests in the maintenance of the system. These people do not even want to hear us. They gave up defending secularism except for their sensitivity for “way of life”. They remember the “sovereignty of Turkey” when Erdoğan gets closer to the West, and the “Western civilisation” when Erdoğan rows with the West. These people used to close their ears when they saw us; now some of them will hide in their nests, while some others easily adapt to the conditions, and a small number of them will leave the country. In other words, we and these people reciprocally avoided each other. Our common ground “anti-Erdoğan stance” is not enough to breach the gap between us, it cannot…

Do we need to consider these people as belonging to the middle class?

Some of them are the privileged segments of the working class with higher wages. Some other have small enterprises, or entrepreneurs, as usually called…There is a segment who are executives…Some are rentiers… They are also influenced by economic developments and yet they manage in some way.

You noted that you were not able to contact them during the electoral period…

We preferred not to. However, there are intersections between the classes in Turkey and in social life. When we try to contact them, it becomes obvious that we are not talking the same language. There are of course exceptions. The sections within this social segment who strive for social change and willing to act on it with their intellect, consciousness and life practice, but they are of the minority.

We are essentially interested in the ones who are harmed by this social order, and are conscious of that, and who have nothing to hold on to against economic hardship. These people do outnumber. Some of them cling to the political power when poverty strains them, search for stability with fear of security and there are some who are deaf to any kind of voice. However, we realised that some people among them listened to us, approved of what we said and even supported us. There is also a certain toiling mass who had long disapproved the political power and increasingly turns it towards social system criticism. That segment was the one we especially strengthened our contact.

Getting the working class organised is our main priority. This electoral period showed us that there is a considerable increase in the anger, rage and search of the toiling masses.

Then why didn’t it transform into votes for the independent candidates?

We didn’t make all these just to get votes. We were aware of the pressure on the people. We did all we could to save them from the trap and yet it was also obvious that quite a few of the ones we convinced were to vote for us. We were not blind to the feeling that “First Erdoğan has to go, and then we can discuss”. Some people who were close to our party even said they were going to become a member of our party on the 25th of June. They thought “I would have to vote for the independent candidates if I become a member of the party.” We also get in contact with a considerable number of new people with whom we settled to meet on the 25th of June, and now we discuss with them. We cannot get crossed with them only because they did not vote for us. After all, they are in fact cross with themselves!

‘WHY WOULD A COALITION SAYING NOTHING NEW APART FROM POSITIONING AGAINST ERDOĞAN ATTRACT THE PEOPLE?’

I would like to go back to my first question. Why did Erdoğan win? You talked about the electoral system but also noted: “this is not the main reason”.

Winning and losing are relative concepts. I will answer with this caution. The bourgeois opposition did establish the widest possible coalition against Erdoğan. However, it was not clear why these actors were against Erdoğan. One man rule, authoritarianism? These are abstract concepts. This widest coalition put secularism aside, propagated pro-NATO politics, and reassured TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association). Then, what was their problem with Erdoğan? When differences get blurred, the voters naturally prefer a single person, the one man. For one thing, there is a floating segment apart from the fixed party supporters. There is the youth who vote for the first time in each election, who don’t even have any party affiliation. Why would a coalition say nothing new apart from positioning against Erdoğan attract the people?

Did Erdoğan say anything new?

By saying new, I mean an alternative. If you rival with Erdoğan in İslamism and right-wing politics, and if you say “There are politicians within the AKP who are well-trained there and useful for the country”, where would you end up? It became obvious that creating an opposing camp within the society through Erdoğan has come to its limits, it is of no use, or it is of use for Erdoğan himself. You should also add discussions regarding [the pro-Kurdish] HDP party to this. HDP’s all electoral propaganda rested on the argument “If you don’t vote for me, AKP wins.” HDP did not have to undertake any electoral work since [parliamentary main opposition party] CHP had done it instead of HDP. HDP is being continuously either drawn towards the system or pushed away from it. The people who orchestrate this believe that their social engineering will reverberate exactly within the society. The unexpected conservation of [the pro-Turkish] MHP party’s votes definitely rests on concerns regarding discussions on HDP.

In terms of Erdoğan…In some senses, Erdoğan says something new every day, and repeats the same things in other sense. Turkish society has an interesting adaptation capacity in the face of economic, cultural and social complications. This contradicts the definition of conservatism in some senses. The political definition of this is opportunism. Erdoğan is capable of manipulating this. He will secure a certain support until such political behaviour does not answer the security need of the people.

Are other politicians not capable of doing this?

It is odd to expect principled and consistent behaviour in bourgeois politics. Erdoğan’s sharp turns exceed this. The rivalry of the bourgeois opposition rests partly on right-wing propaganda and partly on imitating Erdoğan’s opportunism. It seems that they will keep this track at full speed following the June 24 elections.

THERE IS A CERTAIN ‘LEFT-WING’ TENDENCY AT EASE WITH ADOPTING SHEIK SAID TEACHINGS AND FLIRTING WITH THE TÜSİAD

Isn’t it logical to address to the right-wing voters to increase votes?

The success criteria of the bourgeois politics and ours are quite different. Votes obtained in an election do neither legitimate you nor are they the only criteria of success. This is how we perceive it. Everything rests on the elections in bourgeois politics. There is also the rooted perception that “the left cannot get votes more than a certain amount.”

Isn’t that perception true?

This perception rests on a distorted perception of the “left” and “right”. But let’s accept that the pro-establishment left assumes the role of blocking the real left and keeping the masses within the limits of the social order. The left has some values. These are laicism, anti-imperialism and being on the side of the toiling masses in Turkey. The pro-establishment left gave up adhering to these.

Why?

Because a considerable segment of the anti-establishment left moved away from these values. Therefore the social order does not necessitate a firm leftist stance of the pro-establishment left. Then what are we discussing! There was a “progressive left” who championed that the AKP “accomplished a democratic revolution.” And now, they are easy with adopting Sheik Said teachings [Sheik Said Nursi was a reactionary Kurdish theologian who was of service to the anti-communist initiatives of Turkey’s right-wing governments] and flirting with the TÜSİAD. Then CHP can slide to the right even more, until the psychological barrier in front of the strong organisation of the communists within the society. It is soon…

But a second Ekmeleddin case did not happen. There was a strong objection to Abdullah Gül’s candidacy…

(Migarium note-Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu was the common candidate of CHP and MHP at the presidental election in 2014. The influence of the name of this candidate on the CHP electors was a big disappointment.)

Abdullah Gül(former AKP deputy also was president of Turkey in 2007-2014) is among the foundational core of the AKP; there is no need to tell who he is. Discussions on his nomination as a candidate and it’s renouncement only through Akşener’s [the leader of the ultra-far Good “İyi” Party] opposition to it is a total scandal. They said Muharrem İnce [CHP candidate, Erdoğan’s main rival in presidential election] is a good speaker, honest and sympathetic… These don’t explain the heart of the matter. The heart of the matter is that Muharrem İnce has been called a right-wing politician even by the administrators of CHP. Let’s leave the names aside; CHP tried to seem sympathetic to the right-wing voters, while the Good Party and the Felicity Party [an Islamist party that took part in the alliance with CHP and the Good Party in the elections] to the voters of CHP. Such an alliance!

THE ‘COALITION OF THE OPPOSITION’ WAS DESIGNED AS A PROJECT OF THE CAPITALISTS, IT PROVED UNSUCCESSFUL IN THE ELECTIONS BUT WAS SUCCESSFUL IN ANOTHER SENSE

TKP insistently highlighted that this coalition was a project of the capitalists. Erdoğan won the elections. Does TKP still argue that?

TKP shared its initial electoral evaluation on 25th June. We said there too that the opposition coalition was a capitalist project. We also know more or less who and which circles played a special role in the formation of this project. However, Erdoğan himself is also a capitalist project. The ‘opposition coalition’ was unsuccessful in the June 24 elections and yet the project proved successful in certain senses. The ones who provided opportunities to this opposition coalition didn’t specifically aim to push to the political power. I the total formation of the political sphere in a country, the design of the opposition is as much important as the formation of the political power. A design of certain circles does not aim for total success; in addition to this, each and every design does not need to reach its target. Social dynamics and politics have a most problematic relation with calculations. The ‘opposition coalition’ was unsuccessful in the June 24 elections and yet it proved successful in certain senses.

But June 24 elections witnessed the highest mathematical calculations.

The result is obvious! What happened to the argument that the political power would lose parliamentary majority when HDP breached the electoral threshold? Mathematics is not to be blamed.

Do you think that Erdoğan got more powerful with June 24?

Let’s see that Erdoğan is not that powerful in terms of the political calculations, if mathematics matters that much. He is powerful neither in terms of social dynamics nor in any other sense. This may mean a more easily managed Erdoğan for the capitalist class and the imperialist centres. Arguments that Erdoğan got very powerful and that Turkey is in a total collapse are complete nonsense. The tasks before Erdoğan were challenging and they become even more so every day. The cunning people who propagated these feelings before June 24 are going to prepare the people for the upcoming local elections by saying “this is the last chance”, and they have already started to talk about that.

The final exit before the bridge?

I don’t know, maybe they will feel ashamed to say so and call it “final U-turn”.

‘TKP WAS ABLE TO RESIST THE TIDE’

What will TKP do? It couldn’t get energy from yet another electoral period…

TKP is a party that knows how to resist the tide. It knows how to contract without turning inward when the tide accelerates. An alternative to this is stepping aside. We didn’t step aside  June 24, resisted the tide and contacted countless people drifting away in the opposite direction. Everyone makes mathematical calculations during the elections, but we calculate our move after the elections. Yes, we were unsuccessful in terms of vote rates and yet TKP will quickly claim space in the post-electoral period when the speed of tide decreases and even dies out. We have no concerns regarding this. We had new members just before the elections, and it increases now.

The people who follow what TKP says knew that TKP may become isolated on the election day and considered this not that important. The crowd of people TKP gathered on May Day is more than the number of people who voted for it in the elections. This is, of course, something problematic and yet I will say without hesitation that the important thing is the ability of acting together with the people. The number of the people TKP is able to mobilise and act together will quickly increase from now on. This will reflect on the electoral results in a certain period, you may be sure of that. In terms of the energy you mentioned…I said it before, this electoral period has opened very valuable channels for TKP, and we had an important experience. This is the energy. Positive reactions towards the statement of TKP on elections create a great energy. Now we will mobilise this energy in line with our political and organisational targets.

“MoD: Russia to respond if its military threatened by possible US strike in Syria” by sputniknews and TASS

78818-1493733253

sputniknews

After the false flag chemical weapons attack, the US planned to strike government held districts in Damascus as a “response,” according to the Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

Russian armed forces will respond if the lives of Russian servicemen in Syria are threatened, including in the event of a missile strike on Damascus, the Russian General Staff said.

“According to reports, after the false flag attack, the US plans to accuse the Syrian government troops of using chemical weapons, and to provide the world community with the so-called ‘evidence’ of the alleged mass death of civilians at the hands of the Syrian government and “Russia supporting it,” the chief of the General Staff said. In retaliation, Washington, according to Gerasimov, “plans to launch a missile strike on the government-held districts of Damascus.”

At the same time in Damascus, in the offices and facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Syria, there are now Russian military advisers, representatives of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties and military police, Gerasimov stressed.

We have reliable information about militants preparing to falsify a government chemical attack against civilians. In several districts of Eastern Ghouta, a crowd was assembled with women, children and old people, brought from other regions, who were to represent the victims of the chemical incident, ” Gerasimov said.

According to Gerasimov, “White Helmets” activists and film crews had already arrived at the scene with satellite video transmitters are already in place.

“This has been confirmed by the discovery of a laboratory for the production of chemical weapons in the village of Aftris, which was liberated from terrorists,” Gerasimov stressed.

“Despite constant attempts by militants to disrupt peace initiatives in Eastern Ghouta, the situation in the suburb of Damascus shows a trend toward stabilization. Since the entry into force of UN Security Council Resolution 2401 of February 24, 2018, [a total of] 145 civilians and 13 representatives of armed opposition, including 76 people overnight, have been withdrawn from Eastern Ghouta though the humanitarian corridor created by the Russian Federation,” Gerasimov added.

…..

TASS

After the provocation, the US plans to accuse Syria’s government forces of using chemical weapons. He added that the United States plans to “furnish the so-called ‘evidence’ of the alleged mass civilian deaths through the fault of the Syrian government and the Russian leadership supporting it.”

“As a countermeasure, Washington plans to deliver a missile and bomb strike against Damascus’ government districts,” Gerasimov said.

He stressed that there are Russian military officials in Damascus in the Syrian Defense Ministry’s facilities, and “in the event of a threat to our military servicemen’s lives, Russia’s Armed Forces will take retaliatory measures to target both the missiles and their delivery vehicles.”

Retaliation

The Russian Defense Ministry is ready to take retaliatory measures against US’ possible strike over Damascus if there is any danger to the Russian military, head of the Russian General Staff added.

“At the same time, Russian military advisors, members of the Russian Reconciliation Center for the Conflicting Sides and military policemen are staying in the Syrian Defense Ministry’s facilities in Damascus. In case there is a threat to the lives of our military, the Russian Armed Force will take retaliatory measures both over the missiles and carriers that will use them,” he said.

According to Gerasimov, “events to further normalize the situation in Syria’s capital are going on.”

According to earlier reports, illegal armed groups are shelling with mortars both positions of the Syrian government forces and the residential quarters of Damascus and its suburbs.

 …
Shortly, in my opinion, General Gerasimov says that: “if any Russian military force in region will be harmed by any attack of USA forces, we will shoot them down.”

I think, all the preparations of the Pentagon and CIA have made to create on the so-called “chemical weapons of Assad” until today, will go out like the balloon with the today’s statement of the chief of staff of the Russian Federation. I think General Gerasimov’s statement is not the hardest, but the most accurate explanation. Because, last 5 years Russia’s sayings were not taken in seriously by the USA government and the western governments. The West gave the appearance of playing a one-team match on a dual-goal area. And they have never considered what would be reaction of defense. General Gerasimov’s speaks reminded me a chess game. (Actually I do not know well chess game, I know some moves in generally, due to I do not know all moves in chess, I cannot say “I know the chess game). There are some general moves for checkmate. One of them is Queen and Bishop control checkmate. In this move, bishop protects the queen. If you think you will win the game , you can be wrong, because there is the possibility to be checkmate in next two moves. That is to say, USA government and western governments should think twice, even more than twice. Because, it seems that only two moves remained for Russia can win.

What will USA’s powers do, if Russian military would respond to their attacks on Damascus? They will take the risk of hot conflict against Russia, and also USA military forces’s deaths as result?

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

By the way, yesterday there was a news. According to Euronews, “The Swiss parliament did not open, because there is no agenda to discuss.

Haha!

While all world goes to upside down, Switzerland parliament cannot find any subject to discuss. I think, every country on the planet should send one agenda (what they cannot solve about their country) to Swiss parliament, and Swiss deputies work on them, thus, they will get rid of to be bored.:)

“Forget Hollywood, aliens may be more human-like than you think”

The theory supports the argument that foreign life forms undergo natural selection, and are like us, evolving to be fitter and stronger over time.

By Zee Media Bureau

New Delhi: While the world is yet to see what an alien really looks like, an Oxford study suggests that our extra- terrestrial neighbours may be more like us than we think.

Hollywood films and science fiction literature have projected aliens as other-worldly, monster- like beings and that is what we have conformed ourselves to think.

However, for the first time, the study published in the International Journal of Astrobiology shows how evolutionary theory can be used to support alien predictions and better understand their behaviour.

The same processes and mechanisms through which humans were shaped – like natural selection – is potentially what shaped aliens as well, scientists said.

The theory supports the argument that foreign life forms undergo natural selection, and are like us, evolving to be fitter and stronger over time.

“A fundamental task for astrobiologists (those who study life in the cosmos) is thinking about what extra-terrestrial life might be like,” said Sam Levin, a researcher in Oxfords Department of Zoology.

“But making predictions about aliens is hard. We only have one example of life – life on Earth to extrapolate from.

“Past approaches in the field of astrobiology have been largely mechanistic, taking what we see on Earth, and what we know about chemistry, geology, and physics to make predictions about aliens,” said Levin.

In the new study, researchers offer an alternative approach, which is to use evolutionary theory to make predictions that are independent of Earths details.

“This is a useful approach, because theoretical predictions will apply to aliens that are silicon based, do not have DNA, and breathe nitrogen, for example,” Levin said.

Using this idea of alien natural selection as a framework, the team addressed extra-terrestrial evolution, and how complexity will arise in space.

Species complexity has increased on the Earth as a result of a handful of events, known as major transitions.

These transitions occur when a group of separate organisms evolve into a higher-level organism – when cells become multi-cellular organisms, for example.

Both theory and empirical data suggest that extreme conditions are required for major transitions to occur.

The study also makes specific predictions about the biological make-up of complex aliens, and offers a degree of insight as to what they might look like.

“We still cannot say whether aliens will walk on two legs or have big green eyes.

But we believe evolutionary theory offers a unique additional tool for trying to understand what aliens will be like, and we have shown some examples of the kinds of strong predictions we can make with it,” Levin said.

After reading the news, WD has commented on it like that:

“There was no need too much study on it, I would have given some details as being an alien expert!”

Why the trial of Sebastian and Atif was made bad and wrong?

burns-and-rafay

I have watched the tv documentary series by Netflix yesterday night: The Confession Tapes, True East Part 1 and Part 2.

That was very good documentary. It showed how bad a judgment can be.

The episodes summery and event are like that:

The Confession Tapes, a chilling new Netflix true crime documentary series, debuted on the streaming service September 8, and the first two episodes take up the shocking case of Sebastian Burns (pictured above right) and Atif Rafay (above left), two Canadian teenagers who were accused and eventually convicted of the brutal and shocking murders of Rafay’s parents and sister in Bellevue, Washington, on July 13, 1994.

The two friends, now in their early 40s, have been serving three consecutive life terms each, with no possibility of parole, since their convictions in 2004 — a decade after the crimes. In The Confession Tapes, documentary director Kelly Loudenberg makes a compelling case that Burns and Rafay are innocent of the horrifying murders.

But if they didn’t do it, why did Burns and Rafay confess, apparently in great detail, to the crimes? Who would confess to a crime — particularly a gruesome triple murder — that he did not commit?

False confessions are the theme of the entire Confession Tapes series, with each episode documenting a case in which confessions were obtained by police using questionable and even blatantly deceptive methods — calling into doubt the guilt of the suspects who often end up convicted and sentenced on the basis of their confessions alone.

The surprising conclusion viewers may draw from the series is that false confessions are much more common than generally believed. In the case of Burns and Rafay, their confessions were elicited by undercover detectives from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) — Canada’s equivalent of the United States FBI — using a controversial technique known as “Mr. Big,” a method that was and remains illegal in the United States.

The undercover investigators posed as Mafia mobsters, attempting to recruit the two desperate and naive young men — whose lives had already been effectively ruined by the murder accusations — into their enterprise. But the phony mobsters told Burns and Rafay that first, they needed to know everything about their involvement in the murders.

According to Innocence Project expert Ken Klonsky, who has taken up the Burns and Rafay case, Burns — who was approached first — denied repeatedly that he was in any way involved with the savage triple murder.

“Their confessions to the RCMP mobsters took many months of heavy handed interviews to obtain,” Klonsky wrote in a blog post about the case.

“No juror was shown video evidence of Sebastian’s constant denials that he had anything to do with the crime, while the RCMP has disposed of almost the entire taped interrogation. What remains are the sessions that implicate Burns and Rafay.”

Burns finally “confessed” to the men he believed were mobsters, constructing a story from what he had absorbed from news media accounts of the killings, according to Klonsky. Rafay mainly echoed his friend’s “confessions.”

According to Klonsky, outside of the supposed confessions, “no hard or scientifically gathered evidence ties (Burns and Rafay) to the crime.” Despite the fact that Rafay’s family members were killed in extraordinarily violent fashion — the killer mercilessly bludgeoning the three to death with a baseball bat — no traces of blood or other evidence of the crime were found on either suspect despite five days of forensic testing.

“That seemed completely convincing – in a way that would only be convincing to an 18-year-old kid.”

In addition to the lack of physical evidence against them, Rafay and Burns had an apparently unshakeable alibi. They were seen and positively identified watching a movie at a Bellevue theater at 10 p.m. on the night of the murders. But neighbors specifically recalled hearing loud thumping noises from inside the Rafay home at 9:50 p.m., ruling out the presence of the two then-teens at the site as the killings were taking place, as the theater was too far from the Rafay home to be reached in 10 minutes flat — even assuming that Rafay and Burns did not stop to thoroughly cleanse themselves of any blood evidence.

But prosecutors simply called into question the neighbors’ memories of the time. In fact, the evidence against them was so inconclusive, that it took investigators in Washington six months to name Burns and Rafay as suspects in the murders.

quotes from:

Jonathan Vankin article

During the gathering of the evidence and during the judgements I think there was important evidence (perhaps consciously not considered) that was missed.

In the days following the murders the Bellevue Police Department received three tips through other law enforcement agencies: one from Constable Gelinas with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), one from an FBI informant, and one from the Intelligence Division of the Seattle Police. The confidential RCMP informant told Constable Gelinas of a man who had been offered a $20,000 contract to kill an East Indian family that had previously lived in Vancouver, Canada and had moved to Bellevue, Washington. The informant also told Gelinas that he heard this information two days before the murders were committed. Officer Gelinas contacted Bellevue investigators Robert Thompson and Jeff Gomes—the lead investigators on the Rafay murders—and communicated the information to them. The Bellevue investigators traveled to Vancouver and knocked on this man’s door twice. He was either not home or was not answering the door. The Bellevue Police returned to the United States without making contact. About five days after the homicides, the Bellevue Police Department received a call from the FBI advising that one of their informants was coming to provide information about the murder of the Rafay family. The FBI Informant told Detective Gomes of the Bellevue Police that a militant Islamic faction said that Dr. Tariq Rafay should die because of his beliefs and teachings about the Koran. The FBI informant also said that several days after the homicides a member of this militant Islamic faction came to his house and was worried that the FBI informant had seen a baseball bat that he and some other men were carrying around in their car. Because of this, the FBI Informant believed the murder weapon was a baseball bat, which in fact it was. With this information, the Bellevue investigators learned that the FBI informant knew the identity of the murder weapon before this information was made public. The informant provided names, addresses, and phone numbers to the police. However, Bellevue investigators never followed up on these leads. The Seattle Police Intelligence Division called the Bellevue Police Department and told them they had information that al-Fuqra, a radical and militant organization, that may have been involved in these homicides. However, the Bellevue police did not follow up on this information either. They did not question any members of the Islamic community in Bellevue to find out if Dr. Rafay had conflicts with Muslims in the area.

quotes from:

Rafay- Burns Appeal

I have searched this radical and militant organization (I think they do have terrorist organization features) called Al-Fuqra.

FROM wikipeida:

Jamaat ul-Fuqraa’ (alternatively Jamaat al-Fuqraa’) “Community of the Impoverished”) is an organization of mostly African-American Muslims based in Pakistan and the United States. Some of the approximately 3000 members have planned various acts of violence, often directed at rival factions. Two Al-Fuqra members were convicted of conspiring to murder Rashad Khalifa in 1990, and others are alleged to have assassinated Ahmadiyya leader Mozaffar Ahmad in 1983.

Activities

Although various members have been suspected of assassinations and other acts of terror perpetrated in the 1980s and later, and some members having been charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder and other crimes, ul-Fuqra itself is not listed as a terrorist group by the US or the EU. It was included in a list of terrorist organizations in Patterns of Global Terrorism, a 1999 report by the U.S. State Department.

The group has been banned in Pakistan. Jamaat Al Fuqra was also involved in the planned bombing of a Hindu temple in Toronto, Canada in 1991.
Hotel Rajneesh bombing.

On July 29, 1983, Stephen Paul Paster, an al-Fuqra member, set off a bomb at the Hotel Rajneesh, a hotel in Portland, Oregon. This hotel, located at SW 11th Avenue and Main Street, was owned by the Rajneesh religious group and featured the Zorba the Buddha nightclub. Paster had several bombs and homemade napalm in his room, but one of the bombs went off in his hands while he was placing the bombs in the midst of the napalm.

Paster was almost immediately arrested after the bombs went off, as he was one of only two people injured in the explosion, which took place at 1:23 a.m. After the hotel was evacuated two other explosions occurred at 3 a.m. Paster was charged with arson due to the fire which resulted from the explosions.Paster posted $20,000 bail, but fled Oregon and was not apprehended until June 1984 in Englewood, Colorado. In November 1985, Paster was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Multnomah County circuit judge, but was released after serving four years.

Pre 9/11 Massive Terror Plot Targetting 4,500 Hindus and Sikhs in Toronto Forgotten

Toronto’s (Canada’s largest city) terror plot of 1991 (pre September 11) has been forgotten and become a lost memory to Canadians.

The terror plot was planned by 5 Afro-Caribbean Muslims who were followers of Jamaat Al Fuqra, a Pakistani movement. They were acquitted of planning to kill 4,500 people within two buildings in Toronto.  The attacks were to be done one after the other. At the time of the attack, it was seen as an isolated case but now after a series of planned attacks in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto it has been associated with a series of attacks by Islamist terrorists. Just two years before the first World Trade Centre bombing, and a decade before the 9/11 attacks Toronto was the potential terror plot destination of North America where thousands of people would have died had the terrorists not been on the radar beforehand.

The terror plot was set to blow out during the Hindu festival of Diwali at two separate locations one after the other.  The first spot was the India Centre cinema on Gerrard Street with a 500 people capacity (most commonly occupied by Sikhs and Hindus) and the second spot was the Vishnu Hindu Temple, which has a capacity of 4000 (occupied by Hindus of mostly Indian and Caribbean descent) in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Glenn Neville Ford, a Trinidadian convert to Islam who immigrated to Canada in the mid-1970’s is the one who started a group called the Jamaat Al Fuqra which was led by a Pakistani cleric named Sheik Mubarik Ali Gilani.

Gilani was the same man that Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reporter Daniel Pearl was supposed to meet when he was kidnapped and killed in 2002.

Ford coupled with another Torontonian from Trinidad named Max Lon Fongenie and both of them together bought a settlement land on Algonquin Park at Combermere naming it Hasanville (a small settlement for only muslim families). That same summer, the regular visitors to Hasanville where men by the name of Tyrone Cole, Robert Wesley and Caba Jose Harris—all converts to Islam, from Texas.  Police stated that together they started a plan of destruction in Toronto.

In 1991, On October 3rd, Ford and the Texans attempted to enter the US through the Niagara borders where the security at the border found a sheet of paper in their vehicle stating “dying as a soldier of Allah,” as well as floor plans and maps to the cinema and temple. One of the documents in the car even led police to Brooklyn where they found a room full of guns, weapons and 2000 rounds of ammunition.  According to police the four travellers were going to Brooklyn to pick up the ammunition.

8 men were accused. 1 was quickly dismissed. Fongenie escaped to Pakistan. A Brooklyn man pleaded guilty to weapons offences. Ford, the three Texans and another Toronto man, Khidr Ali, were sent to trial. The three Texans were kept in jail until 2006, for twelve years, after which they were freed. They were convicted for being members of a terrorist movement and for conspiring to commit mischief endangering life.

There are the news like that about Al-fuqra action at Toronto. It has always been said that Al-fuqra action was likely to be a preliminary experiment of 9/11.

Let’s turn back to the title question:

“Why the trial of Sebastian and Atif was made bad and wrong?”

If the whole process of judging of Sebastian and Atif, has been experienced as documented, then perhaps we should add a second additional question.

“If two 18-year-olds are the victims of this case, who does take benefit by protecting the real criminals?”

My opinion almost there is CIA behind of every islamic terrorist or radical militant organization on this planet. Of course, it’s not an empty belief of mine. It fulls with facts. Here an article about these facts: Jihad and Jihadists: So where do they come from?

In this case, it seems that the links of an organization, which is highly likely to be persuasive and evident, have been seriously and consciously overlooked. And the most striking feature of this organization is the possibility of making a preliminary experiment of horrific 9/11. Who was behind and staged 9/11?

here some writings-posts about it:

If all the judgement proceedings continued in the same way as Netflix documented, then perhaps it is time to ask why the actual offenders are protected. And if the actual offenders are this organization of unexamined evidences, then is it not clear who protects them?

…..

Or maybe all these are the conspiracy theories in my extraterrestrial mind, who knows?

ps: By the way, the judge of the case of Rafay and Burns seemeed like Hollywood actor. What kind of speech of his decision statement at the final! He seemed that he acted towards the cameras, haha!

Photoshop maker Democrats

Democrats in the United States, ‘photoshopped’ the posters of socialists

The poster, which was used by the Democrats in the United States in a tweet, got the reaction of the socialists. Because the poster which belongs to the Socialism and Freedom Party was “photoshopped” by the Democrats and diverged from substance of it.

The “Democratic Party infiltration” in the USA against the Trump movement continues with tragicomic events.

As last, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) Twitter account, which celebrated Trump’s withdrawal of the health care act, used a poster with “Trump is the Symptom” written on it. Actually same poster has been made by PSL and used in 21 Women’s March in D.C.

Although the PSL poster seen in the DNC tweet retained the line “Trump is the symptom” from the original, it omitted the next two lines: “Capitalism is the disease” and “Socialism is the cure.” The PSL subsequently criticized the alteration, saying the original poster contained “the word that terrifies Democrats the most”:

Ben Becker, an organizer with the PSL’s New York City branch, said in a phone interview that the alteration was a “poorly-Photoshopped illustration” of how the Democrats interact with what he called the mass movement against Trump: “People online are using it as a symbolic representation of how many times Democratic Party politicians will co-opt activist movements from below and put themselves at the front of them or use the imagery of mass protests [and] take credit for it.”

The PSL has given the answer to question about whether or not they will take a legal step against the fraud of the Democrats. “Our response is No. This photo shows the Democratic Party leadership’s strategy of assimilating the popular movement and using it as a showcase for its own political interests.”

The PSL which emphasized “the DNC is positively an enemy, not a friend, ” continued their statements like that:

“The two major parties have jointly managed a decades-long assault on the country’s working class and most vulnerable communities. The Republicans have done so shamelessly while the Democratic leadership has done so more cleverly and cynically, wrapping their policies superficially in the language of social justice. All organizers and protesters, old and new, have to be alert to this reality, and not allow this new grassroots movement to be redirected behind their narrow electoral aims.

The Democratic Party is a party of Wall Street and the military-industrial complex and is simply not up to the task of confronting the menace of the Trump Agenda and the far-right. It is a dangerous illusion to expect the Democrats to “persist” against Trump when their whole historical record points to collaboration with the right.”

………

My opinion my Earthling friends, the situations like that are called as “theft” , and the people who made this, are “thieves”. It is so much clear and simple. 🙂

Haymarket time capsule uncovered, still unopened

By John Rice

History is being uncovered near the Haymarket Martyrs Monument in Forest Home Cemetery. A large team of volunteers worked to recover a time capsule that was buried near the monument over a hundred years ago. Despite adverse weather conditions over the weekend, they made remarkable progress, finding a cube, believed to contain the ashes of Haymarket martyr, Oscar Neebe. Beneath this, they discovered a cylinder that appears to be the time capsule. It was removed late Monday afternoon.

This discovery caps over two years of effort on the part of local residents and archeological experts. Researchers Mark Rogovin, a labor historian, and Bleue Benton, an Oak Park Public Library research librarian, first found mention of the capsule in a Chicago Tribune article from Nov. 7, 1892. It describes a capsule being ceremonially buried under the cornerstone of the monument.

A speaker at the ceremony stated, “When generations to come dig up these records and read them, they will wonder that such barbarity could have been tolerated in the 19th century.”

“Barbarity” would describe the treatment of the eight working class leaders, who were arbitrarily blamed for a bomb that exploded on May 4, 1886, in Haymarket Square. The bomb directly killed one Chicago Police officer. Other officers and protesters were killed in the chaotic shooting that followed the explosion. The identity of the bomber remains a mystery to this day.

Nevertheless, following their trial, four of the defendants were hanged. In 1893, the Pioneer Aid and Support Association erected the monument to honor them. Prior to the monument’s construction, the capsule was buried on Nov. 6, 1892.

The Pioneer Aid and Support Association listed the contents of the capsule. It includes articles from Chicago newspapers from the Haymarket era. There was also a long list of documents from a variety of labor unions, including Beer Brewers Union No. 18, the Progressive Cigar Makers Union 160, and the Ladies Tailor Union. Reportedly, there are also documents from the Socialist Men’s Choir, the German Ladies Society and other labor organizations.

Finally, more personal items: Letters penned by the martyrs and family photographs. The list of contents is long and there is a large collection of court documents from the “Great Trial of the Anarchists in 1886.” These documents were interred with the intention of having them read by future generations.

When Rogovin learned of the capsule’s existence, he contacted archeologists in the area and organized an effort to discover its location. Dr. Rebecca Graff, a professor and fellow at Lake Forest College, led the effort.

“I was contacted by the Illinois Labor History Society,” Graf recalled. “I was actually asked to find something. It’s been a real pleasure; the degree of collaboration is delightful.”

This summer, Graff brought ground-penetrating radar to the cemetery and surveyed south of the monument. (Time capsules are traditionally buried near the southwest corner of a monument). An object matching the size of the capsule…

Do Not Yield to Religious Fundamentalism, Imperialism and Military Coups

kp-logo_0

…Communist Party, Turkey (KP), a number of politicians, trade union leaders, intellectuals including Kemal Okuyan, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of KP, have signed a call to make a mass demonstration again in Istanbul, on September 4, 2016 under the title, ‘Do Not Yield to Religious Fundamentalism, Imperialism and Coups’.

With International Bulletins, the International Relations Bureau of the Communist Party, Turkey, shall continue to provide information on the latest developments in Turkey as well as the news about the demonstration on September, 4th.

Below you may find the manifesto of the call for September 4th.

Do Not Yield to Religious Fundamentalism, Imperialism and Military Coups

In the aftermath of the July 15, the US-backed military coup attempt of the reactionary forces, we who shall meet in the demonstration on September 4, 2016 shout out loud that we will not yield to religious fundamentalism, imperialism and coup plotting. The current developments that drag our country to the threshold of destruction are directly related with the conscious policy of the imperialist and capital forces to bury Turkey into obscurantism. In this perspective:

1) Behind both the strengthening of the coup plotters, the religious sect of the Gulenists,  and the long hegemony of the obscurant power that consciously created the base that supported the above strengthening, lies the assaultive project of imperialism, the so-called moderate Islam. This project which has no other aim than hypnotizing and suppressing the peoples of the world has to be questioned in total and the ones who are responsible should be exposed and purged.

2) The public officials who use religion and religious principles or link somehow their actions to religion when in duty, are conducting a constitutional crime. Whatever their position, minister or mukhtar (neighbourhood representative), they should be punished; the individuals who use the excuse of ‘behaving according to religion’ should be dismissed from their duties and put on trial.

3) Turkey as a secular country does not need an institution that gives fetwas. The Directorate of Religious Affairs should be closed.

4) As a result of an insidious operation the religious Imam Hatip Schools are put in the centre of our educational system. This is a part of the project to create an Islamic State and actually with the latest developments, this project has hit a wall once more. Turkey has more Imams than needed, the redundant Imam Hatip Schools should be closed and the educational system should be planned on scientific and secular bases.

5) The religious sects and cults that strive to root out secularism are dark organizations nesting within the State and insidiously getting spread just like a dusty spider web. Not only the Gulen movement but all the religious sects and cults should be damned, prosecuted and purged.

6) The political and military networks of imperialism in the pass of the years are responsible for insidiously dragging our country to the threshold of disaster and, as in all coups, have played role in the coup of July 15. Turkey should leave NATO and the European Union membership process should be ended.

7) All the US and NATO bases should be seized. All nuclear weapons in Turkey and primarily in Incirlik base, one of the biggest nuclear weapon stores in the world which is designed as an explosive mine ready to erase our country from the map, should be disarmed.

8) All government officials who supported the armed jihadist forces in our neighbour country Syria, intervened in the internal affairs of this country and played major role in bringing the country in the threshold of destruction, have to be adjudicated.

9) Making available the benefits of the public sources to some individuals, arbitrarily distributing the public sources as part of incentive policies, openly plundering the facilities, institutions and foundations that in the past were in the use of the public benefit are the most significant stations in the route that dragged our country into the bog. Plunder and injustice does not only refer to the wealth of the ascertained companies and administrators of the Gulenist movement. All the domestic and foreign connections in the unjust enrichment of the enemies of the people, the plunder and theft should be inquired; the ones that backed each other while plundering the country should be called to account. The plundering network in which until the very near future there was collaboration for common political interests but in which now a politician can blame the administrator of the capital city of the country for being responsible for the plundering of half of the parcels of Ankara, has to be crumbled.

10) The statement that declares that the Fethullah movement was constituted with the decision of CIA by the hand of MIT (National Intelligence Organization) at the house of one of the richest capitalist families in Turkey, has to be inquired.

11) The abolishment of death penalty is one of the most significant and irrevocable historical gains in the history of Turkey, regarding both its political and humanistic dimensions. Using the coup attempt as an excuse to bring back the death penalty is unacceptable.

12) The oppression in the public services should be ended, unnecessary dismissals should be invalidated. Flouting the principle of judicial independence, the political practice of arbitrarily setting up pro-government cadres in public services, should be ceased.

13) The coup plotters that made the decision of a slaughter and gave instructions in this order should be uncovered with its proofs.

14) The reactionary gangs that spread terror in the streets giving the image of suppressing the coup, the ones that armed them, encouraged them and used torture should be ascertained and punished. It is very clear that these masses are not gathered together instantaneously for the sake of democracy but are so organized that they can make their own coup.

15)  Openly using the excuse of the coup in the wind of ‘national consensus’, the anti-popular and pro-capitalist regulations are coming one after the other. The legislative decrees and bag laws that impose the privatization programs and the looting individual pension system, should be annulled.

16)  The AKP government cannot pay the account with a mere apology for dragging the country into this condition in 14 years. Starting long years before, the Gulenist movement has undertaken dirty missions in several decades, while in the AKP rule had become a partner of the government, clearly, in an anti-constitutional way. Inquiring these years in total and specifically inquiring the actions of the AKP governments during these years and eliminating the results of the anti-popular practices are prerequisites of a real confrontation. Expecting us to believe that a religious sect is responsible for all the mess and its purge shall detoxify the state and the society, allowing the government to reinforce its power this time relying on some other religious sects, means accepting the truth of a new reactionary coup.
