Once more again rising extreme nationalism and fascism in Europe

I’ve always dreamed of a world and a universe in this way. A world that all people and all living creatures in the universe can live together in peace..

Is this possible? Yes, it is possible. But how long can it be done, it’s entirely in the hands of human beings. I’ve wanted to write this article for a long time ago. I think it has been better in these days especially just after the 100th anniversary of end of World War I; the days which the reasons of the start of the war are repeated, but still the days that the people paper over the realities. Because economic conditions are worsening, and Europeans are more likely to embrace racism, fascism and extreme nationalism. Three days ago, what happened in Poland on anniversary of independence day is the best example.

Slogans against communists, Muslims and Jews in Poland

When the demonstration will be organized by fascist groups for the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence in 1918 was banned, it was turned into a “government program”. Fascists and racist groups participated in the demonstrations in Warsaw with the participation of President Andrzej Duda. Last year, 60 thousand people attended to Independence Day’s demonstrations, in this year the participation has been about 250 thousand people. At the action, which turned into a show of extreme right and fascists, was shouted against communists, Jews and Muslims.

In the action that the police builded wall against the people who protested against the fascist demonstrators, the fascist groups shouted slogans such as “Islam is the enemy of Europe”, “Delete Islam”, “Our way is nationalism”, “greedy Jewish”, “Communists will be hung in the trees instead of leaves”.

Poland’s right-wing president Andrzej Duda told a crowd at the start of the demonstration in Warsaw yesterday. “We are walking under a white-red flag with a welcome to commemorate those who fought for Poland and the independence and sovereignty of the country,” he said. Former Prime Minister of Poland and President of the European Union (EU) Council Donald Tusk also participated in the action.

The situation for the discreet and rational Poles seems really bad. In particular, there is a large community that has never taken any lessons from history in Poland. For example, didn’t the Polish fascists ever watch this movie?

Hatred, Wołyń/Volhynia is one of the most horrible films I have watched in my life on this planet. Even to watch any good horror movie isn’t that effective like this movie. It is the best example of what fascists done and what fascists can capable of. The massacres of Poles in Volhynia by faschist, which co-operated with Nazis, how the massacre was organized within the churches, even how the children were slaughtered, and how the fascists got pleasure(!) pervertedly, even how the Polish poet Zygmunt Jan Rumel was killed brutally, and many others are described in this film. And in 2018, the fascist groups in Poland argue that the solution is again fascism. This must be a tragicomic joke!

But it is not. What happened at the 100th year demonstration in Poland is not a joke, unfortunately. People can be hostile to their neighbours they have been living together for years, or to those who come with the hope of life from outside to their land. Since the planet earth has been experiencing a new kind of migration of tribes (more last 15 years), it seems that extreme rightism and fascism will continue to increase, especially since the European continent was home to these new kind of migration of tribes. The hope that people will live in peace remains to another century again.

I had thought a long time ago, “what was the most important thing that would make people’s lives together in peace?” In fact, for this, to answer to this question was needed first: “What led human societies to fight and war? The ambition of wealth, greed or interests?” When we write these and similar reasons one by one, economic dynamics emerge. As a result of the community leaders and their relationship with the money-power centers which these leaders are somehow connected, when the economic situation in society worsens, these leaders can somehow drag the society into a war. In fact, the reason of why the economy is not reflected equally in people’s lives is these mismanagement and money-power centers, but despite this, societies can erase the reasons/facts and fight against the different groups in the same society or the people of the other countries.

There are, of course, many reasons of why they erased these facts. At first, there are a sense of belonging and self-identification. How? If a person does not endeavor to develop own level of personal learning (with or without school), when he/she finds him/herself in any economic dilemma, he finds himself among those whom he can act together with depending on the same religion or the same nationality (sometimes it can be the same race). Because he feels that he belongs in these groups. After all, when these groups gather, they don’t ask him what book he’s read yesterday. The only important point is that the same nationality and the same sense of religion are intense and unifying. The unification of the same nationality and the phenomenon of the same religion gives that person the power to relax him/herself.

Because in real, he is powerless and weak

Let’s say he has a job and he’s going to work everyday. The salary at work does not increase, but economic conditions are not good in the country. He sees that people who have not got the same religion with him and are not the same nationality, work with the same or less salary. He wants to create a resistance against them. As a result, he sees the land he lives on as the primary right of the people in his nationality and the same religion. With the time the people from different nationalities and religions become enemies for him. Who knows how many nights he became sleepless by thinking “where these guys came to my country, damn them!”. And again the next day after the sleepless night, how many times he thought, “These guys must get out of my country.”

The same example is more intense in one who is unemployed. Seeing that every door that has closed his face when he seeks a job, seeing every employer who is hiring a person from another nationality or religion with less salary, his sleepless nights are rising. The only trump in their hands in both examples is that they think that the real right of that land is the people of own nationality and religion.

This will feel true at first sight to every person. Because if the entire family of a person has lived in that land for centuries, if they have paid the taxes, if he has endured that distress with all the people on the land in any difficult time, then the genetic coding is activated and it would be created the right to think that he is the first owner of this land. People belonging to another religion and nationality who come to his country from outside reach the usurper condition. So they are chosen as enemies from first-hand.

To see the people of different nations or the people who depending on a different thought or religion as enemy

This is the easiest way. It is easiest to think that the outsiders, or the different elements among the people, they always encroach on the rights. He does not think why these people came to his country, and more importantly, he does not think about his own country’s rulers(probably the majority has always voted for them) have taken actions that would harm to those people, even his country bombarded their country.

If we speak on Poland,(from wiki page)

The Multi-National Force – Iraq (MNF–I), often referred to as the coalition forces, was a military command during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and much of the ensuing Iraq War, led by the United States of America (Operation Iraqi Freedom), United Kingdom (Operation TELIC), Australia, Spain and Poland, responsible for conducting and handling military operations. (2003-2011)

After 2011, at 2014 in this time, Poland has been one of the 77 countries in the coalition led by the US.

And one of the most famous movements of this coalition army is to hit civilians constantly in Syria!

The coalition has publicly admitted to causing 892 civilian deaths since the began anti-ISIL operation in 2014.

Monitoring group Airwars says the number of civilian deaths acknowledged by the coalition is well below the true toll of the bombing campaign, estimating that at least 6,259 non-combatants have lost their lives.

The latest news on November 9, was the same again,

US-Led Coalition Strikes Kill 26 Civilians in Eastern Syria – Reports

In short, because of the groups that extremist right-wing Poles felt belonging, in some countries people are dying, war is going on, people are becoming homeless. And when these people have to flee and become refugee, the far-right Poles and their leaders see them as enemies. It is really interesting!

An far-right-wing Pole who knows that his country is bombing these countries, does not think about it even if he knows this fact. Because that’s the hard part. And choosing that side will drive him away from the nationality and religion that he feels to belong. But he wants to belong. That’s what defines his identity; his religion and nationality. He cannot accept that the people of other countries have come to his own land because of the crimes committed by the rulers he has voted. His acceptance is not possible. Because he falls into emptiness when he accepts. This emptiness destroys his emotion and thought on retrieval.

The thing to be retrieved actually is the sense of justice

So in fact, the answer of first question I asked “What led human societies to fight and war?” is the lack of sense of justice.

People want justice essentially. If there is a life in fair conditions, if they live with equal sharing under equal social rights, then the sense of justice will be in safe. When this feeling is in safe, the people in their own society or other nationality or religion will not bother him. Because they will know that everyone lives on an equal conditions and each individual is taking his/her right; neither more nor less.

If the states and state administrators can provide justice, the people of that country can live in peace. The best sentence on this subject, I think, was told by Caliph Ali in history. He said that about this: “The religion of the state is the justice.” I know it’s interesting that I’ve put the words of a caliph in here as an atheist extraterrestrial, my dear earthling friends. But this sentence is really good, is not it?.;)

After all, if the elected rulers are not fair in the public, if the people cannot benefit from the rights equally, then the main responsible are the rulers. However, nationalism and religion are such a sharp sword in the hands of fascism that you cannot see even the reflection of the sword on the parts that it cut. Because it leaves nothing. It’s the same as it happened before, and it seems that it will happen again.

What are the limits and dimensions of rising fascism in Europe

In the case of France,

national_front_maps_976v2

We see the development of Ms Le Pen and right-wing National Front like that. Le Pen is right-wing, but Macron is really opponent of her? It’s so funny to say that he is not right-wing for someone who says these words.

“President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday it was “legitimate” to pay tribute to Marshal Philippe Petain, who led the French army to victory in World War One’s Battle of Verdun but decades later collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War Two.” (6 Nov. 2018)

Is Macron ignorant? Although his words did not have a side to be defended, immediately defended his words by the government. He did not take steps backward either. As it turns out, the fact that he joined the socialist party at the age of 24 did not create any development for him.

The map in the news of BBC in September 10, 2018, under the title “Europe and nationalism: A country-by-country guide” draws the attention.

104116174_eu_far_right_10_09_18_640map-nc

While the rise of nationalism in the countries in the middle and south of the map depends on the fact that more refugees are in these countries, economic conditions are predominant. Well, in the north, why the nationalism is rising by 17% -18% in Sweden and Finland? The economic conditions of those living in these countries are much better than in the southern European countries. I wonder, could it be some of the Swedish or Finns decided to try nationalism as a new taste because of they were so bored, haha! Kidding aside, I don’t think so.

About a year ago I came across a video on youtube.

It was an interview with actor Gustaf Skarsgård, the actor of Floki’s role in Vikings TV series. (Okay, okay I confess, I did not find this video by chance. I’m watching Vikings TV series, and I was wondering what would happen in the new season. We, the extraterrestrials like to get spoilers, haha!) At the beginning of video, the interviewer asks questions about Vikings. As understood from the interview, the interviewer is Norwegian origin person and I guess he lives in America. The part that attracts my attention starts at 2:48 seconds of the video. During the conversation, the interviewer says that a Norwegian singer said “Norwegians are prude and stupit”. And he asks to Gustaf Skarsgård:“You are standing up for Norwegians here?” And Skarsgard answer is very natural. Like that:

“No, I am just standing up for, for, for, for humans in general. I don’t care that much about nationality.”

Yes, he says “for” four times. I think he thinks in the same time and even Skarsgard sounds like stuttering. It’s like there’s nothing he can do. His brain cells were probably shocked by the question. He is a very good player, and as well as being a good player, he obviously has improved himself. He is capable of a being universal actor. (Not yet, because Galactic Council Universal Art Administration, Human-made Visual and Performing Arts Department, did not take Vikings usage right yet; when they take, he can be universal.;))

If you are a person like Gustaf Skarsgard, that is, language, religion, color and race are not important for you, you can confuse in front of such a question with a momentary pause. But the interviewer goes on and says:

“Scandinavians, we have to stick together too you know.”

Apparently the interviewer is insistent. Somehow he wants to establish a bond by referring to more general population, he points to all Scandinavians. I don’t know why he’s doing this. Have the Scandinavians ever been exposed to racism in anywhere on the planet? Are they an oppressed race? For them, “Scandinavians and dogs cannot enter” on the doors of restaurants was written? Did the other people search for Scandinavians door by door for burning or killing/hanging them in history? Was any banner hold such as “get the hell out of my country” by pointed to Scandinavians in any country? Is there something the world doesn’t know about, but only the Scandinavians have quietly endured and this interviewer knew? Why this interviewer was wanting to create a Scandinavian union like the power of Voltron? I’m confused. Gustaf Skarsgard seems to be confused too; this should be caught unawares. At first, Skarsgard says yeah, but he come to himself with a smile: “Yeah,… Europeans… and the members of the planet and all.”

Most likely, after Skarsgard’s first “yeah” response, during the milliseconds it has been transferring in his brain like that: “What I am saying! Why only Scandinavians? No, all Europeans. No no, why only the Europeans! All members of the planet, yes, we must all stand together.”; like every rightminded and humanist human being. This was reflected in his words. (PS: Even though WD has understood his words as unite against extraterrestrials, I do not agree with him.:))

After all, this very short moment and detail in this video had led me to think a year ago. I’ve always thought that northern Europeans are less nationalistic and more inclusive societies. Of course, I had information about the period when some Norwegian collaborated with the Nazis. Like some informations as described in this article: The Dark Sides of Norwegian History

I even don’t mention about what happened to Lebensborn children especially in Norway.

Or again, when we look at history, we know that a group in Sweden has united with the Nazis. Or what happened to the Indigenous people of Northern Europe, Saami / Sami people (In Turkish and Russian, they called as Lapon people and their land is Lapponia) who are lesser known among the indigenous communities in the world? If you look at what is told in this film, no good things have happened to Sami people in Sweden.

I knew these facts, but I still was thinking that Scandinavians could always be less nationalistic and even less racist in Europe. I think mine was a stereotyped idea about Scandinavians.

While the economic conditions in the Scandinavian countries are better than many European countries, where this mentality comes from? And according to bbc’s article, nationalist parties are almost effective in one-fifth of the population of these countries. I found an interview-article about it. The title and link is in here: “Why is the far-right on the rise in Scandinavia?

When you read it, even though it was two years ago, you can observe some things. There are some comments under this article. And I think the most remarkable comment is following:
“Because the left has abandoned their own people and jeopardized the safety of citizens with reckless illegal immigration policies. The left deserves its fate and I truly hope their only way is OUT.”

In other words, when left-leaning people lose their sense of security in their own country, they question the decisions of a leftist administration. For example, the article says “Sweden by alone received more than 160,000 asylum seekers in 2015, more than any other EU state” This looks good from the outside. So, it means that among countries that bombed Syria, at least Sweden accepts own responsibility. But if the arriving refugees create a security threat, it is still up to the laws that the government will implement. However, in order to put pressure on government decisions, I do not understand the logic of moving from left-wing to right-wing. Does it mean they tried all the ways and decided to be the rightist when they could not find any solution? I do not think so. It’s the easy part, and it’s nothing but to take the easy way out.

When talking about rising fascism, it is not possible not to pass over Ukraine. After all, this beautiful country is now almost becoming synonymous with fascism. In Ukraine, fascism is even bigger. Even children are now trained in Ukrainian nationalist camps. Details and videos of AP news dated 12.11.2018: Training kids to kill at Ukrainian nationalist camp

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — The campers, some clad in combat fatigues, carefully aim their assault rifles. Their instructor offers advice: Don’t think of your target as a human being.

So when these boys and girls shoot, they will shoot to kill.

Most are in their teens, but some are as young as 8 years old. They are at a summer camp created by one of Ukraine’s radical nationalist groups, hidden in a forest in the west of the country, that was visited by The Associated Press. The camp has two purposes: to train children to defend their country from Russians and their sympathizers — and to spread nationalist ideology.

“We never aim guns at people,” instructor Yuri “Chornota” Cherkashin tells them. “But we don’t count separatists, little green men, occupiers from Moscow, as people. So we can and should aim at them.”

I think we will write more and more articles about this and we will read the news. Of course, there is no cure for extreme nationalism, you can’t cure people by giving a medicine. But with justice, education and equal conditions, you can save people from extreme nationalism and fascism. Of course, in order to do this, the public needs to act in an organized manner.

In my case, the situation is worse. We already had a limited number of countries that we can visit on the planet. For example, we, the extraterrestrials can never go to US, because since Roswell, we are all considered as the experimental object at there. We can’t go to Japan either; even if Japanese people look polite and rational, they have interesting thought structures, and we have our suspicion and fear that they will make us test subject. As a communist and atheist alien, we cannot go to Ukraine, for example. Ukrainian man says clearly that you have read above, “we can and should aim .. little green men …” The fascists in Poland want to use communists instead of leaves in the trees; you have read also this upper lines. There are many other countries in the list, but these are the first. For us, the first ages of humanity were unique times to visit the planet earth. The human race was not so intensely spread into the continents. The ones, Homo Sapiens who started to be exist, were engaged in the slaughter to the Neanderthals and wiping them off the planet. Already in the rest of their times they were living in the caves by painting and they were trying to make human babies. So it was the best time for us. But not now. And unfortunately, much worse future is waiting for both us and common sense people.

In Denmark, cultural assimilation to the immigrant children

News was taken from SoL.news

According to the new laws in Denmark, in immigrant neighborhoods, which are defined as ‘ghetto’, some crimes will be double punished, and the children who are living in these low-income areas will be subjected to cultural assimilation under the name of ‘education of values’ by begining from one years old.

While other Danish citizens are not obliged to take any preschool education until the age of 6, the trainings scheduled for at least 25 hours a week are compulsory for children of families living in ghetto from one years old. According to the law, which mainly involves the neighborhoods of Muslim families, the social security payments of families which do not send their children to the trainings of “values” such as Christmas, Easter and Danish are being cut off.

Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen who gave a place for integration of immigrants at his speech at new year warned that ghettos could “reach out their tentacles onto the streets” by spreading violence, and that because of ghettos, “cracks have appeared on the map of Denmark.”

Double punishment for immigrant neighborhoods

That tough approach is embodied in the “ghetto package.” Of 22 proposals presented by the government in early March, most have been agreed upon by a parliamentary majority, and more will be subject to a vote in the fall. One measure under consideration would allow courts to double the punishment for certain crimes if they are committed in one of the 25 neighborhoods classified as ghettos, based on residents’ income, employment status, education levels, number of criminal convictions and “non-Western background.”

Electronic ankle bracelets for immigrant youngs

Some proposals have been rejected as too radical, like one from the far-right Danish People’s Party that would confine “ghetto children” to their homes after 8 p.m. Challenged on how this would be enforced, Martin Henriksen, the chairman of Parliament’s integration committee, suggested in earnest that young people in these areas could be fitted with electronic ankle bracelets.

The proportion of immigrants coming from Muslim countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria is 13 percent in Denmark, which has 5 million 700 thousand population. The unemployment rate in the places where Muslim immigrants are majority is estimated to be 40 percent, and it is estimated that more than half of the immigrant population has a very low income.

The skeletons in France’s closet: Part II

1954-1946  Vietnam

main-qimg-012b05ae4e879c15a22d2612858d8500-c

Most people do not know this first part of the Vietnam war. It is known what America did in the second part of the Vietnam war, but it is ignored that France has prepared all this destruction during decades.

The First Indochina War generally known as the Indochina War, and as the Anti-French Resistance War in Vietnam) began in French Indochina on 19 December 1946, and lasted until 1 August 1954. In this part of Vietnam war, France was the main actor. Intrestingly, France that was a country which just out from WW2 in 1946, and France should has been poor and in the period of new structuring. But as we can see, France has been always ready to any new war in another corner of the planet.

During this time, the total number of civilians and soldiers who died in Vietnam is 377,523 people. About 190,000 people are also missing or dead. These numbers are flexible, could be more. Because there is no exact population record in Vietnam at that time. Figures only based on figures reported to governorships. Especially in 1944-1945 under the colonialism of Japan, suffered great hunger, even starvation, Vietnam was a country where close to 1 million people lost lives.

Except only 1944-45, between 1887-1954 France controlled Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, which is referred to as Indochine Francais (French Indochina). In fact, in 1930, the Vietnamese were uprising against France, resulting in the death of nearly 1,000 Vietnamese. You can read from here Ho Chi Minh – speaking on the formation of the Indochinese Communist Party -is a statement for a call for unity by Vietnamese colonialists on February 18th 1930.

As a result, France, which has been exploiting Vietnam somehow for during 60 years, at the end of the 1940s France embarked on a new partnership with America, namely Marshall plan funds.

Marshall Plan funds (US dollars) Given to France: 1948/1949 – $1085m —

1949/1950 – $691m — 1950/1951 $520m

In short, while Algerian people were killed and tortured by France as we told in Part I, France was in Vietnam almost in the same years. At least 600,000 people have lost their lives in Vietnam. We have added 600,000 more skeletons to the closet of France.

We still can not leave between 1945 and 1960. It is not possible to catch up with the speed of France. The number of people killed in this article is perhaps only “a number” for everyone. It can be thought that they rebelled and fought against French imperialism, and were killed. Is only limited with this? While France suppressed these revolts, it committed serious war crimes. Just like it’s in Algeria. In 2012 “Algeria 1830-1962” exhibition opened to the public at the Land Forces Museum in Paris. According to the BBC, “It is evident that France often resorted to torture methods. An Algerian who was punished with bastinado, appears in one of the previously unpublished photographs. In another photo a French does squeeze a prisoner’s neck.”

I will not add visuals here. But if you only googling the photos of what French did in Algeria, you can see how France has done great war crimes. And that’s only one example.

As I said, we can not leave 1945-1960 yet. For example, let’s look at Cameroon. Let’s go from Vietnam to Cameroon, to the another far corner of the world.

1957-1959 and 1960-1961 Cameroon

These dates draw the attention with high losses in Cameroon’s independence war. Approximately 71,000 Cameroon people were killed between these dates. The note in the wikipedia: “The French Army is often burned or otherwise destroyed entire villages infested with terrorists, resulting in an unknown number of non-terrorist civilians.” So, the villages inhabited by people were consciously burned by French. The quotes from the article about these events, “The Forgotten Cameroon War“:

A few days earlier, former prime minister François Fillon described colonization as the simple “sharing of culture.” Ignoring the millions of corpses French colonialism left in its wake, he declared: “France is not guilty for having wanted to share its culture with the peoples of Africa, Asia, and North America.”

I see here a French politician’s arrogance that French colonialism culture got into everybone of his body, what about you?

Well, what do you know about Madagascar?

1947-1954 Madagascar

In 1947, the Malagasy people began to revolt by wanting to stop being a colony of France, and 90,000 Malagasy people had lost lives until 1956.

1944 August – France

Now I think we can look at 1944 and before in the history of France. Let us look at the end day of this period of the French who actually took part in the Second World War between June 1940 and August 1944. That is exactly the day of liberation from the occupation of France, 18 August 1944. Previously I published a post with the title “The children of Lebensborn: They were the children, who have become the target for revenge”. In here you can find more detailed information about them. The children of Lebensborn, in briefly, the children of the relations between the some Nazi officers with volunteers(the word of volunteer does not give the exact meaning without knowing the war conditions) or reluctant women in the countries they occupied, for keeping their “pure race” plans in the wartime period. These children were in every country that Nazi Germany occupies in Europe.

Başlıksız 3

On the 18th of August, while French celebrated with the colorful flags in the streets of Paris with Americans, in the back streets same very civilized (!) French accused about 30,000 French women of being Nazi collaborators, so their hair was sculpted, painted with swastika, and forced to walk in naked or half-naked in public with insults and humiliations of their own people. Even these women were exposed to violence. The anger and lynch culture of France has already been examined in the previous chapter, Part I, with the 1961 protests of Algerian protesters in Paris.

While France is accusing to almost all the others by begin with Turks and Russians at every opportunity, with barbarism, not being civilized, aggressions and war crimes, France itself is racist at all occasions, itself lynches at every opportunity, lays out it’s hatred and carries out racism on the other hand to cover up it’s crimes. the closest example was France wanted Russia on war crimes charges.

French women who were lynched on August 29, 1944 by own French people were sent to prison, many died. Their children have been humiliated throughout their lives too.

Between 1944 and 1940, France made defenses many fronts in the occupied territory. Well, were all the French soldiers only French? France, from the early 1830s, created the French Foreign Legions, especially from the colonies of Africa. These were battalions in different names. For example, one of the names is Saharan Companies of the French Foreign Legion. In these lejions, various nationalities and races people were used as soldiers. As of 2008, members come from 140 countries. From the 1830s onwards, it entered them in fights on many fronts, including the First World War. In other words, they exploited these countries, destroyed their cultures, assimilated them and, on the other hand, crusaded the poor peoples of these countries in the wars, both within the continent and far away as human power. These people, most likely used in close 100 wars or in more, became soldiers on the frontlines of the French fronts. The answers of questions such as how many Africans were fought on the French fronts over this century and how many have died can be found by researching these wars and fronts one by one. My guess is more than a million, until the end of the Second World War. In the Second World War, how many African french fighters have been fought, can be found by looking at the same way.

Before 1940

According to the French Foreign affairs web page, “In 1935, France had to maintain an overseas army (armée d’outre-mer) of 210,000 effectives in North Africa, Syria and the colonies; At home she had only 320,000 men under arms. Among the colonial forces, however, are 100,000 natives of North Africa organized into special regiments of infantry and cavalry, who are helping to maintain order in the African territories where they are mainly stationed develop in Europe.”

senegal-011-1440x564_c

In fact, the great depression that started in the late 1920s showed itself in France (unemployment rate was more than 15% in France and in the same period in Germany unemployment rate over 40%), and unemployment and bad economic conditions did not go well until 1939. But, in those days there was an incident that should take its place in the history of shame of France.

1931  Paris Colonial Exhibition

The exposition opened on 6 May 1931 in the Bois de Vincennes on the eastern outskirts of Paris. The scale was enormous. It is estimated that from 7 to 9 million visitors came from over the world during 6 months. The French government brought people from the colonies to Paris and had them create native arts and crafts and perform in grandly scaled reproductions of their native architectural styles such as huts or temples.

Quotes from the article which the photo was taken:

Coloniale culture›: Josephine Baker as ‹Queen of the Colonies› with her troop at the Exposition Coloniale 1931 – Pernod advertisement with Josephine Baker and her song ‹J’ai deux amours…› for the 1931 exhibition – ‹Pavillon Togo-Cameroun›

At the same time, a high value was placed on modern and “tasteful” relations between the audience and the “indigènes on display”. The address to the visitors in the Guide officiel gave ample space to an educational request for appropriate behavior:These people’s way of living is moving closer to your own today than you think. Turn your attention to their work. Watch how they operate. […] People communicate not only through words; impressions are not limited only to sight. […]The presentations of other people often correspond to your own, but are simply expressed differently. Think about this. May a cultivated and highly French joy animate you, honored visitor […].”

France exhibited the people that she brought from it’s colonies before 1931 too; in the description of the human exhibition on May 5th 1889, there was this sentence (sorry because that word passes here, but this sentence is French used, is not my sentence): “May 5, 1889: tomorrow 400 “Negroes”, Kanaks and Annamites will be the stars of the World Expo.”

Or there was the other one, when the 1st World War was over, Marseille exhibition made in 1922; but this, in 1931 was the bigger one.

Pause note: With “The skeletons in the France’s closet: The Part I and the Part II”, I have studied the Colonial cultures of the French, which have been holding the western part of Africa since the early 1900s and almost 2/5 of the occupation of the continent, also from Vietnam to Madagascar. We have seen people from 140 different countries in Foreign French Legions. France, which began colonialism in the early 1800s, not only exploited the wealth of these countries, but also imposed French culture and language on the people of these countries. France did this with assimilation. It is difficult to predict how difficult it is for those countries lived through. France which is always showing itself next to the democracy and oppressed people, for it, it is always cooling in the gentle shade of France’s hypocrisy, accuses and insults the countries such as Turkey and the people, by advertising itself as if throughout history it did nothing bad, and still does not do anything. With a racist approach, it reaches its sneaky aim by making other peoples enemy against each other.

Perhaps hundreds of thousands of French fans, who live outside of France by ignoring this hypocritical history of France and France’s almost all massacres and exploits throughout human history, and make themself the trumpet of France. What a pity that those who are the instruments of the imperialist devastating policies of France’s are the people who live outside Europe, in the regions where France has always pursued exploitation. Or maybe this situation may be creating theirs racism a camouflage, who knows.

Those who bind their hopes to French interests are betraying their own people in the region they live in. No other country, especially countries like France, will not consider your interests. In this age, year 2018, in the communication age when all kinds of information can be obtained, to be in lack to make analysis, at the first puts you and your people at risk. To do this is foolishness, credulousness. French govenment is a government that upsets the racialism among the peoples, while giving arms to both sides for centuries. Please do not forget that France fills its bank accounts with the profits from this situation while it is patting your back from thousands of miles away.

We came finally in the 1920s. In the last century, the crimes against humanity by France are these (if there are the deficiencies, you can write as comment and I add them to this article). The previous century before 1920, will continue. However, in the middle there will be a research on Armenian-French relations which is a very important subject. With this research in line with own interests of France, sometimes you will learn at the end of 1910s, the great brutality of Armenian gangs under the command of French in Anatolia, in Turkey’s War of Liberation, sometimes you will read how France supported an Armenian terrorist organizations such as ASALA since 1970. Even the historical role of Lebanon in this subject will surprise you. Again and again you will be amazed how French fed Armenian people and the other peoples with seeds of racism and enemity against the Turks during more than centuries and which lie and slander campaigns under “Armenian genocide” name were carried out by France subtly and how western societies did not see all these.

The skeletons in France’s closet” will continue as I said after the Armenian-French relations. Because there are more countries in history, France has exploited, occupyed, massacres and it’s crimes against humanity for centuries in different positions.

Racial and class discrimination in the US’s science world

In effort to understand continuing racial disparities, NIH to test for bias in study sections

By Jeffrey Mervis

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, has decided to find out whether its fabled grantsmaking process discriminates against African-American scientists.

Armed with new data showing black applicants suffer a 35% lower chance of having a grant proposal funded than their white counterparts, NIH officials are gearing up to test whether reviewers in its study sections give lower scores to proposals from African-American applicants. They say it’s one of several possible explanations for a disparity in success rates first documented in a 2011 report by a team led by economist Donna Ginther of the University of Kansas, Lawrence. The so-called Ginther report also noted that black researchers are more likely to have their applications for an R01 grant—the bread-and-butter NIH award that sustains academic labs—thrown out without any discussion by study sections and that black scientists are less likely to resubmit a revised proposal for a second review.

NIH is also faced with the problem of low participation rates by minority scientists. Only 1.5% of its R01 applications come from African-American scientists. (The average applicant submits three applications, although whites submit at a higher rate than blacks.)

The bias study would draw from a pool of recently rejected grant applications that have been anonymized to remove any hint of the applicant’s race, home institution, and training. Reviewers would be asked to score them on a one-to-nine scale using NIH’s normal rating system. Richard Nakamura, head of the Center for Scientific Review in Bethesda, which manages the NIH grantsmaking apparatus, said he hopes to award a contract later this year for an outside firm to conduct the analysis.

The exercise is one of three “experimental interventions” being launched in the coming months as NIH continues to wrestle with the implications of the Ginther report. In 2014, in the first round of what NIH Director Francis Collins touted as a 10-year, $500 million initiative to increase the  diversity of the scientific workforce, NIH gave out 5-year, $25 million awards to 10 institutions that enroll large numbers of minority students and created a national research mentoring network.

A second intervention starting later this year will tap that fledgling mentoring network to tutor two dozen minority scientists whose R01 applications were recently rejected. The goal of the intervention, which will last several months, is to prepare the scientists to have greater success on their next application. A third intervention will educate minority scientists on the importance of resubmitting a rejected proposal, because resubmitted proposals are three times more likely to be funded than a de novo application from a researcher who has never been funded by NIH.

NIH officials recently updated the Ginther study, which examined a 2000–2006 cohort of applicants, and found that the racial disparity persists. The 35% lower chance of being funded comes from tracking the success rates of 1054 matched pairs of white and black applicants from 2008 to 2014. Black applicants continue to do less well at each stage of the process.

Ironically, because the pool of black applicants is so small, it wouldn’t take much to eliminate the disparity: Only 23 more R01 applications from black researchers would need to be funded each year to bring them to parity. But that’s not good enough, says Hannah Valantine, NIH chief officer for scientific workforce diversity, who presented the new data today to the director’s advisory council.

“We want to narrow the gap in a sustained way,” Valantine said. She cited other factors believed to depress the number of applications by black scientists that NIH hopes to address in partnership with universities, including fewer institutional resources or a heavier teaching load.

One issue that hung in the air was whether any of the disparity was self-inflicted. Specifically, council members and NIH officials pondered the tendency of African-American researchers to favor certain research areas, such as health disparities, women’s health, or hypertension and diabetes among minority populations, and wondered whether study sections might view the research questions in those areas as less compelling. Valantine called it a propensity “to work on issues that resonate with their core values.” At the same time, she said the data show minorities also do less well in competition with their white peers in those fields.

Collins offered another possibility. “I’ve heard stories that they might have been mentored to go into those areas as a better way to win funding,” he said. “The question is, to what extent is it their intrinsic interest in a topic, and to what extent have they been encouraged to go in that direction?”

Referring to the tiny pool of minority applicants, one council member asserted that many African-American undergraduates who do well in science choose medicine over research when contemplating their future because they aren’t familiar with academic research as a possible career. Valantine said the data show that applications submitted by African-Americans are evenly divided between those who have M.D.s and those with a Ph.D. But she acknowledged that understanding “the science of diversity” is a huge challenge for her office and for NIH. “It’s probably more complex than any other thing that we do,” she said.

Still I am waiting

In last April when I was sick, I’ve watched a manga adapted animation tv series with an Earthling friend’s recommendation. Yes, I had plenty times for watching kind of these things at those days. 🙂 I love Japanese animation genre films, but I had never watched the tv series before. I am talking about “Shingeki no Kyojin”. It’s translation in English is “Attack on Titan”. It’s story, musics, characters, almost everything of it is super!

Imagine a world surrounded by high walls and you have to live inside it. Titans(giants) live outside the walls. These Titans are eating humans, they are attacking to the humans in everywhere they saw the humans; their meals are men, women, children, elders indiscriminately, so entire human race. The teams are being established for defense inside the walls, and for reducing the population of Titans outside the walls. The young humans are selected for training according to their abilities. The aim is to train those who can make fatal blow to the Titan’s neck which is only point for killing of Titans.

The human race inside the walls, they seem they came from every corner of the world, sort of United Nations community. So, human race is encircled completely.

One day, a hope is coming to the light for humans who don’t know what Titans are and where are they came from. This hope is begining with the emerging about the truth of Eren Yeagar who is one of the main characters of the story.

Eren Yeager is a nervous young, in fact he is a type has adolescent attitude. At first, we see from his name and surname, how the community inside the walls is close to united nations. His name “Eren” is came from Turkish, his surname “Yeagar”, actually spelling as “Jeager” is came from Deutsche(according to web pages).Another important character in the story, Mikasa Ackerman, she is Eren’s adoptive sister. And another one is Armin Arlert, he is childhood friend of Mikasa and Eren.

And there are many more inside the story’s fiction. As I said like all nations are together.

(Guren no Yumiya- Shingeki no Kyojin opening theme 1)

Another important character is Captain Levi who cannot be passed without specifying of him.

They and the others are trying to find a way out. Because now, the walls are started to destroy by the Titans. Circle thoroughly tightens, and the humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Why I loved so much this story? Maybe, even if the creators of Attack on Titan should have thought a different subtext, I think so far to the last chapter, the story shows how can humanity compress itself by own, and everything doesn’t consist of only black and white. There is nothing much that they can hope. Even the weapons in their hands against these Titans are very feeble, even sometimes it needs to see the deaths of some fellows at teams for killing the Titans. But the result? There is a constantly ongoing will such as steel. We can define it as a survival instinct. But it would be short. Somehow the human species can survive. So they could have lived in different corner of the world dispersedly without putting themselves in danger. But they don’t do this. They choose to be organized to fight and to evaluate all data with scientific thought while they do this. They have some losses always. But there is no war without any loss.

When this animation is watched, actually it is impossible not to understand that real world is not so different. If you want to take a healty result against everything(you can put its name for the real world), every way of this is passing through to be organized consciously.

(Great performance of Guren no Yumiya with violin by Taylor Davis!)

And of course, the musics of Attack on Titan are marvelous. Most of them has been very famous from now. Briefly, Attack on Titan is complete visual and cerebral festival. And I am still waiting the second season. It is been said the second season will come on at spring 2016. Spring has already came to northern hemisphere, or if they expect the spring comes to southern hemisphere. 🙂

One another important note is the discussions about the origin of Eren name as far as I saw internet.

First I need to specify that these discussions show this animation has been watched from the beginning without understanding of it. Because the aim of the animation is to explain the results of all races of the human species, if they act with together. At the world of Attack on Titan, it is being showed how people are combined without making discrimination of the races. So, this animation is on the basis, anti-racist. If you would try to seperate the people, it means that you intend to show racist behavior. Racism is underlying of this. Why I used word of “racism” which has got high affect? Because I’ve seen some discussions at web pages and some people used such ignorant sentences. When these are read, people can have thought easily “some races cannot be hero or main good character at movies or animation or etc, like Turks.” How it can be described, if this is not racism?

Yes, racism is in everywhere. People don’t miss any opportunity to show their intent to racism 🙂

But if it necessarily needs to clarify subject,

“Eren” name is an essence word of Turkish as both etymologhy and linguistics and also sociology, historical. It is a Turkish essence word which has got a meaning and place into this fourth.

The word of “Eren” is derived from the word of “er”. The word of “er” is seen at first in written shape at the Orkhon Inscriptions, so pre-1300 years. Its meaning is the man, soldier. And it is still using in the same shape today’s Turkish.

At Turkish, the words are derived by bringing addition to the roots. Both verbs and names are derived from the root of “Er”.

For example,

The verb of “ermek” means that is to achieve a desirable thing.

The names of “Eren” means that a person who have reached the desired thing.

Also eren word is used an adjective.

That’s why, “Eren” word has been using as name for 1000 years at Anatolia, with the result of about 2000 years culture which came from Central Asia. Even, “Anatolian holy person” as being “Erenler” (-ler- addition makes plural to the word) takes an importantant place in Anatolian folk culture.

According to latest the name statistics of Turkey, every one of 920 people has got “Eren” name. So according to latest population census of Republic of Turkey, 87,819 people’s name is Eren.

In which country at world about 88,000 people with “Eren” name are living, other than Turkey?

I guess, those who make discussion about the origin of Eren name, you have learnt the answer anymore. 🙂

Italian Ivy League economist pulled off flight and interrogated for ‘mysterious’ scribblings flagged up by another passenger… which turned out to be MATH

An Italian Ivy League economist sitting on an American Airlines flight from Philadelphia was flagged by a passenger to the crew as being a possible Middle Eastern terrorist scrawling threatening notes.

But Guido Menzio, a 40-year-old professor at the University of Pennsylvania, wasn’t writing secret messages.

He was solving a differential equation.

And yet Menzio’s flight from Philadelphia to Syracuse on Thursday night was delayed by more than two hours after the woman sitting next to him told the crew she was worried about her seatmate.

The woman, whose identity was not revealed and is believed to be in 30-something, initially told a flight attendant that she was feeling too ill to travel, an American Airlines spokesman told the Washington Post.

But when they escorted her off the plane, the woman told the crew she had actually been feeling suspicious of Menzio and wanted to be booked on another flight.

Then it was Menzio who was being escorted off the plane, where he was informed by an official that his seatmate had suspected he was a terrorist – specifically bring up his ‘cryptic’ notes in the unrecognizable script.

Menzio laughed and showed officials what he had been working on, an equation related to a talk he was on his way to giving at Queen’s University in Ontario regarding menu costs and price dispersion.

The professor was soon allowed to return to his seat, and said the pilot seemed embarrassed by the whole thing.

Math has been always horrible subject for most human. But in this time not for school children, it gave the fear to the aduts:)

For me, math is the one of the most valuable and enjoyable subjects for understanding to universe as much as physics. First thing came to my mind when I’ve read this news, “how  couldn’t they understand these were the differential equations?”. If these notes were seen a person who has at least high-school graduate at Turkey or Russia(these two which I know their education system, maybe there are more at east), this person could undersand easily these are differential equations.

After I thought that “this is not about the math or etc.” This is about the fear. At USA or some European contries, people have been too much horrified that their psychology are fragile like crystal anymore. And after, I thought, what if they live in any east country, what would they do? Every day living with real terror. Probably they commit suicide, because obviously they are not able to live with real terror events every single day.

Actually the government of USA terrorizes the own people with horror. For doing this it is using propaganda tools. For example I’ve watched a Holywood movie recently, and one character was saying to the other: “Only paranoiacs could be survive”. I had laughed when I heard this. ( which it was a thriller movie):)

And creating horror is effecting people in every angle. I am quite sure, the USA government calculated the all parts(sociological, psychological, mental etc) of this.

According the scientific researches continuous horror is killing brain cells. People would have only one idea at one point for focusing, they don’t have any change to think in different areas while living with continuous horror. It is not like the old times anymore. Ages ago, horror was giving a chance for surviving of people, and they made houses and weapons for protecting. But todays, continuous horror is killing the people from inside of them. I think they calculated this too!

A forgotten Event

The hints of today’s events actually are lying on the past; all hates, all imperialist aims, even almost everything. Nowadays foremost British imperialism and western imperialism are not being talked too much. Today, as if, Quenn Elizabeth is perceived almost as Snow White, all politicians of commons house at history were/are cute like dwarfs and the all heritage of British imperialism is peaceful like Grimm’s tales by most of world public. This is like a kidding! There isn’t any fairy tale in the middle. And Historian Dr. Pat Walsh shows us some forgetten events, thank you to him for doing this.

A ‘National Conference on the Eastern Question’ took place in Piccadilly, London, on 8 December 1876. The Convention was attended by 1,200 delegates and The Times noted “we have never known any association for a political object which has obtained support over so large a part of the scale of English society.”

But who is aware of this most significant political event in the life of Britain today?

Microsoft’s AI chatbot Tay, has been racist, Nazi, supporter of Trump in a day

taybanner

Tay, an artificial intelligence software which developed by Microsoft, started to curse and make racist and controversial politic comments on Twitter. Tay’s about page at on its web page of the company the explanation is:

“Tay is an artificial intelligent chat bot developed by Microsoft’s Technology and Research and Bing teams to experiment with and conduct research on conversational understanding. Tay is designed to engage and entertain people where they connect with each other online through casual and playful conversation. The more you chat with Tay the smarter she gets, so the experience can be more personalized for you.”

But, Tay didn’t get smarter, because of the human factor.

After then Microsoft started to delete these tweets of Tay on twitter. Right now, there is no any tweet like that, but the screen shot of Tay’s tweets were taken by twitter’s followers, here is some of them:

tay tweets

And, an emailed statement from a Microsoft representative said, “a coordinated attack by a subset of people exploited a vulnerability in Tay.”

The human factor has turned Tay into a wierd creature in a day.

And it caught my attention, the most important question hasn’t asked to Tay on twitter. You know, Atlas which was created by Boston Dynamics has been kicked by a man. I made a post about Atlas, title “Atlas is learning the mentality of humankind” . If I had a twitter account I would asked to Tay by adding Atlas’s beating video to my tweet:

“What do you think about Atlas which is the same of your kind, has been kicked by a human?”

If anyone would ask this question, let me know Tay’s answer. This would be view of AI for human race.

Racism, Equal Opportunity, and Capitalism: an intimation of a critique – written by Norm

Quotes from the article :”…So people are racists, xenophobes, and intolerant, and if they are not, then because we very much do live in a world of ‘cultural-isms,’ in a world made up of elites in competition with each other on the basis of the group allegiances that they can muster and command, in a world that often if not always privileges the notion of the group over the individual, people are at the very least most certainly susceptible to being racists, xenophobes, and intolerant zealots. So let us not pretend that things are otherwise than what they are…”

Taking Sides

Racism, Equal Opportunity, and Capitalism: an intimation of a critique – written by Norm

Racism, xenophobia, intolerance – it is all around us.

The attitude – for we can speak of a singular attitude, of a single attitudinal posture, regardless of its basis, be that of an imagined racial purity, cultural identity, religious outlook, political orientation, historical national ancestry, and so on and on – rests upon the idea that one belongs by virtue of some kind of essential identity to a group and that the world divides into a multitude of such essential and potentially contending identities.

Ordinary people have no difficulty speaking of themselves as being Catholic or French Canadian or German or European or Jewish, as belonging to this or that group, or even to a variety of overlapping inclusive categories of groups, each conceived in terms of its defining folklore, its customs, its aptitudes, its values…
