Would you want to live on a planet like this?

This maps shows the planet surface before 300 million years ago. After the continents separated, the people started to live the known world. Have you ever thought, if the continents would have been the same with the 300 million years ago, what would it be?

At first I guess so many sea creature would have lived in today’s. Because these countries wouldn’t have used the sea road to fight with each other.:)

The other side, as politically in history, there would have been some changes.
-No one would heard Columbus name.
America is not far away, friends. It doesn’t need to be explored.

-Instead of Bay of Pigs Invasion, maybe USA would made Superior Lake Invasion, Canada.:)

Canada would have been in the middle of Russia and USA, my Earthling friends. Canada would have been the most affected country from Cold War.

-Because of the thoroughly close distance between Germany and England they would have been in constant battle.

-Turks, because of the distance is far from Central Asia, probably instead of Turkey, they would have settled in present-day northern European countries, such as Denmark, Sweden, or Norway:)

In Anatolia, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece publics would be a mix. I am sorry Greek friends, you wouldn’t want to be so close to the Middle East.:)

-India and Australia would have been very cold. And people would have gone for snow sports to these two countries.:)

And list goes on, what do you think my Earthling friends? What would it be, if the continents were still same?

  1. Never thought about this. Nice observation. My response: Then there would be some serious water crisis cause no inland without mountains/glaciers could sustain itself independently. And also the word island would be abandoned for just its singular reference.

    • Absolutely right! “Island” word wouldn’t be exist. Thus, the people cannot ask a question such as:
“If you were stranding in a desert island, what would you bring in here?”:)
In this case, where Daniel Defoe would leave Robinson Crusoe alone;)

  2. Interesting indeed. 🙂 Well, China would have had hard time taking over Tibet.. Greenland would probably have larger population than China. Lithuania would have been further away from Russia, but still stuck smack in the middle between Russia and USA, so no improvement there…Slave trade from Africa would have been simpler for Americans, kind of like now, just get them across the border. Brasil could still be central for best football matches.
But I wonder if we would have exterminated each other even sooner if we all lived on one island like that.

    • Brasil really lucky one, BeeHappee, isn’t it:) When I look the map I am seeing that Middle Africa would have been central civilization of mankind. Because, it seems to be like a big triangle valley which located in the middle of the Nile and Amazon with the current name “Mediterranean”. With this view, I am thinking that “if this is a center, then probably the people in here make slave trade from more distant points”. I guess in this time, white man might have been slave:) And as you said, of course, they are very close to each other to fight and exterminate easily.

  3. Everyone would intermingle and perhaps we wouldnt have discrimination? 🙂 Its a wishful thought but there you go haha. Maybe we would have one supreme group of leaders or maybe just our own isolated groups of people governing themselves. I dont think we woulf have a very extensive trade network, and I cant imagine a very industrialized world wither for some reason. But its an interesting question to pose and a wonderful observation

  4. i like the mix up of a political map of 2015 with a map of earth 300 millions of years ago. That made me a serious strange face when i saw this. The borders and the tectonic cuts between the countries is somehow interesting to watch. Especially the Brazil -Us cut 🙂 interesting point of view explaining the map and the point about :what if “the bay of pigs invasion” didn’t happen at all.
